11 Nov 2020 – Burdens – Part 5

Psalms 81:6 “Now I will take the load from your shoulders; I will free your hands from their heavy tasks.

The burden of worry is a backpack, the burden of sin is a blockage but the burden of success is a  saddle over our head. Success is embedded in the heart of a man, however, growth, progress and acceleration can be knocked down by failures, thumped by words and trashed by disappointments. If success has be stolen from our hands more than once, fear of failure will grip our hearts. Today Jesus wants to free our minds and hearts from the stress of success.

Bezalel was an anointed architect who built the ark of the covenant. Exodus 30:3 I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills— 4 to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze. Paul was anointed as a preacher, writer and orator to share the goodnews to the gentiles. Galatians 3:7 I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of God’s grace given me through the working of his power. Joseph was anointed economist and financial analyst. Genesis 41:39 Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Since God has made all this known to you, there is no one so discerning and wise as you. The Pharaoh entrusted his kingdom into the hands of a slave and ex-convict, released from prison, as Joseph was an anointed business analyst and financial expert.

Anointing is not reserved for the pulpit ministries and preachers. We can be successful holistically only if we are anointed teachers, doctors, engineers, accountant, analysts, housewives, house surgeons, businessmen and barristers in the court or behind a coffee machine. So, stop stressing about your career and success and start seeking His anointing over your life.

Three stress relievers that lightens the burden of success are:

1.     Anointed: Everyone of us are uniquely anointed with gifts and talents for the positions we are placed in. We must learn to draw wisdom and knowledge from the source of wisdom and knowledge.  Christ is the source of all wisdom. Colossians 2:3  In whom (Christ) are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. The word “anointed” means to be slathered or poured over. Seek the source Jesus for the anointing as a journalist or philanthropist or a psychologist. Anointing makes us invaluable.

2.     Prepared: The Lord will prepare before He plants. Genesis 2:8 The LORD God planted a garden in Eden, in the east, and there He placed the man He had formed. He has prepared the organisation, location and people before He placed us in the challenge. We are not there by chance. If you still haven’t reached the Garden of Eden that God has prepared for you, surrender your will into His hands. Surrender propels you into the place that He has prepared for you.

3.     Favoured: We can be smart, qualified and skilled but success comes only from the Lord. Proverbs 21:31 The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but the victory belongs to the Lord.  Favour of the Lord will take us to places where we are not qualified, speaks for us where we have no voice and promotes us to places that we can never reach with our own strength. God’s favour promotes us to the places of honour.

Stop stressing about your career and success. We can never succeed without His special anointing, power and favour over our lives. So seek the anointing for your expertise, surrender your will into His hands and seek His face and favour. God has prepared success before we succeed. Embrace, embark and be enriched.

Proverbs 2:6 For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.
