12 Nov 2020 – Burdens – Part 6

Mark 5:26 She had spent all her money on physicians, but no one was able to heal her.

The burden of sickness is a lumber on our physical body and our bank balance. The woman who suffered with hemorrhage for twelve long years had spent all her savings on medical advice, treatment and specialists. Her case would have been the most discussed among the physicians and specialists, as she had missed none. The incurable sickness had thoroughly ruined her life. The arrival of Jesus was the birth of the Kingdom of God on earth. Luke 4:18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free. Jesus came to put an end to oppression, possession and depression. He came to set us free from the suppression of sickness. He came to dislodge the kingdom of darkness and establish the kingdom of God on earth.

Healing us from sickness, setting us free from demonic possession and addiction is nothing but the power of the Almighty God invading into the dark chambers of disease, depression and drugs. When Jesus drove the demons with authority and taught them the scriptures with clarity, the Jews were astonished. Mark 1:27 The people were all so amazed that they asked each other, “What is this? A new teaching—and with authority! He even gives orders to impure spirits and they obey him.” Jesus has given us the same authority to demolish the kingdom of darkness and destroy the bonds of sickness.

Three requirements to offload burden of sickness:

1.     Faith: The woman with the hemorrhage did not come and fall at the feet of Jesus; she just reached out and touched the garment of Jesus. Mark 5:28 because she thought, “If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed.” Her seed of faith was birthed in her thought not her actions. Action without faith will be fiction but action geared by faith will bring the healing to fruition. Destructive, doubtful and damaging thoughts will kill the seed of faith. God honours our thoughts more than our actions. Psalms 139:2b you perceive my thoughts from afar. Plant the seed of faith and build a protective wall of positive affirmations around it.

2.     Fasting: Fasting is an action of obedience. It can be skipping meal, meals or meat. Fasting does not change God, it changes us and humbles us. It changes our trust, truthfulness and tenacity in Him. Fasting does not twist the hand of God to get what we want but prepares our heart, removes the clutters and cleanses us to receive the blessing of healing and health from Him. Fasting without praying is starving. Jesus came down the mountain and healed the boy who was possessed by an impure spirit and said, “This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting” (Mark 9:29).

3.     Fellowship: We can be healed and remain healed only with our constant fellowship with Him. When we are filled by the Holy Spirit, there is no room for demonic attack or depression. When we fellowship with the Holy Spirit we will have no friendship with the demonic spirits. Foul language, music, sniffs, habits or beverages that attracts the demonic will be completely obliterated by the divine fellowship. John 15:5b He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.

The seed of faith, the sacrifice of fasting and the sanctity through fellowship with the Holy Spirit will bring healing, health and happiness to our body and our soul.

Matthew 13:58 He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
