03 March 2021 – Mind Over Matter – Part 2

Proverbs 23:7 For as he thinks within himself, so is he.

Harvard University Social Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience Lab has proved that more than 60% of the conversations we have are with “ourselves”.  We are constantly in a dialogue with our mind as the human mind is a womb. Thoughts are seeds planted in the womb of the mind. A thought “perceived”, when entertained, is “received” then conceived” and implanted in the womb of our mind. The conceived thought patterns are nurtured and birthed as words, ideologies and philosophies or beliefs. Good thoughts grows faith but unhealthy thoughts  sow “deceptions”, “misconceptions” and disbelief. Mind is the battlefield.

Faith is a perception of a promise which is cultivated and nurtured by meditation and conceived as confidence, courage and calm assurance. Hebrews 11:11 By faith even Sarah, who was past childbearing age, was enabled to bear children because she considered Him faithful who had made the promise. Before the 90 year old dead womb of Sarah conceived Isaac, the darkened womb of her mind was enlightened with faith. Faith is our perception about God; His omnipotence, supremacy and influence over any situation.  Faith is strictly “mind over matter”. Take an inventory of your thoughts to keep the womb of your mind productive, innovative and intuitive.

Three ways to fortify the mind from being polluted, convoluted and infiltrated:

1.     Abort: Abort depressive, oppressive and digressive perceptions before they are received and conceived. Perform a spiritual D&C(dilation and curettage) to your mind and clean fearful, frenzy or frightful conceptions of your mind. Don’t just nip it in the bud, but uproot it and give your mind a complete wash. Sarah executed a D&C to the womb of her mind before her barren womb could conceive and receive the promised child. The medical evidence and prognosis was against her; She was way past childbearing age, well past menopause and her womb was too weak to bear the weight of a baby. Yet, she looked past the stumbling evidence and considered Him faithful who had made the promise. Abort and uproot ugly, unwanted and unhopeful perceptions, conceptions and interceptions.

2.     Retort: Retort the attack on the mind before it can take shape, form or figure. Both faith and unbelief forms images in our mind. We visualise the victory or defeat in our mind before it is birthed in the natural. You are transformed into the image you perceive. Doubt will make us inquisitive but disbelief will defeat us in our mind. “Mind is mightier than the muscle”. The devil deceives with lies constantly; he is at work even when we are asleep and will sow lies in our mind. A bad dream can make us believe in doom and destruction. Retort back at deception before it can take root and conceive in your mind as a misconception.

3.     Exhort: Exhortation will keep our mind agile, alert and active. As exercise is to the body, reading is to the mind. Read refreshing books, feed your mind with positive podcasts, exhort the Lord in your mind to keep it healthy and fit. Praise and proclaim promise verses as you fall asleep and keep your spirit man exhorting the Lord, even while your physical man is asleep. This will keep you from nightmares, bad dreams and insomnia.

Abort wrong perceptions, retort misconceptions and exhort inception, intercession and divine reception.

Hebrews 11:6a And without faith it is impossible to please God.

Prayer: Dear Jesus, teach me to abort hideous perceptions, reject deceptions and continually exhort, praise and worship you in my mind. Amen
