Psalm 34:7 For the angel of the LORD is a guard; he surrounds and defends all who fear him.
Those who fearfully revere and respect the Lord have a 24/7 armed guardian angel hovering over them. These Heavenly envoys are not ordinary beings. They are mighty in power and strength. You angels, you mighty ones who carry out His plans, listening for each of His commands (Psalms 103:20). When we surrender our lives to the Lord, there will be a board meeting in Heaven and an armed security guard will be appointed to watch over us. The assignment of this angel is to watch, guard and alert. The angel has a walkie-talkie to transmit regular updates to Heaven. When there is an attack from the dark forces, our personal security guard will alert the defensive force of Heaven to send a convoy of combat angels to protect us.
The king of Aram sent horses and chariots to attack prophet Elisha. While the Arameans were assembling their soldiers together, the security angel perching with Elisha alerted the angelic army. Before the Arameans surrounded Elisha, the angelic horses and chariots of fire descended around the hills in Israel (2 Kings 6:8-17). The eligibility criteria to summon a round-the-clock security guard is the ‘reverential fear of God’.
Three requirements to activate the divine security system:
1. Security Guard: Angels wait for divine instructions. A peek into Heaven will astonish us with the communication between the Heavenlies and the security guard who is watching over us day and night. Angels are assigned only where the Lord God is honoured. The security guard would be withdrawn if we walk away from His precepts. Ignoring the presence of the Lord, conflict, hatred, unwholesome language, foul music or pride will recede the protective cover of the angelic bodyguard.
2. Security Alert System: The angelic alert system has ‘sensors’ in every area of our life – (relationships, career, finances, family, etc). While we are unaware, the sensor in our relationships will alert Heaven about the schemes, slander and slur that is circulating and the divine defence force will attack the demonic forces that are infiltrating our reputation. The sensor at work will alert Heaven about the discussions in the boardroom and stir the heart of a person in authority to speak in our favour. Our prayer, praise and worship will keep the security system’s connection steady and stable. .
3. Security Force: According to the signals that are transmitted to Heaven, air force, artillery, cavalry or navy will be convened. Heaven has a very complex security system to cater to millions of believers at the same time. Human mind will not be able to understand divine technology or the complexity. Human understanding is only a trickle of what Heaven tackles. To protect Prophet Elisha cavalry of horses and chariots were sent. To fight for the Israelites, hornets were sent as air force. To protect Paul from sinking in the storm, the navy was dispatched. The security forces of Heaven will receive commands and get into action, in reaction to the signals received from our personal security guard.
A peek into the Heavenlies will enlighten us with the numerous accidents that we have escaped, the incidents that we have missed and the destructive disease that were destroyed by the security guard who protects us.
Psalms 91:11 For He will give His angels charge concerning you, To guard you in all your ways.
Prayer: Dear Lord, revering your name builds a strong tower of security around me. Thank you Jesus for summoning your angelic hosts to watch over me day and night. Amen
