18 August 2021 – Powerade – Part 6

Romans 5:5 And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

Genuine love” that has been poured out into our hearts supernaturally by the Holy Spirit will birth “durable hope”. This hope will not put us to shame.  Hope that is cemented by our relationship with the One who gave His life for us is the hope that will not let us down. Hope that springs up like mushrooms during dire desperations are only temporary shades during sudden torrential rain. If we come to God only when we need something there is no genuine love. Whereas the embryo of hope incubated in the womb of love and under the warmth of the wings of the Saviour, will nurture legitimate hope. This hope will see beyond the uncertain present, into the certain future. Hence relationship is the Powerade that will build brawny hope.

A flight journey from LA to San Francisco was unpleasant due to tumultuous turbulence and rough weather. The passengers were sitting on the brink until they saw the blink of the runway for landing. However, there was an eleven year old boy who had no qualms or fear. He was munching on his chips, sipping his coke and was enjoying his video game. The 65 year old passenger next to him asked him on landing about the secret of his calmness in the midst of the pulsating inmates. The boy answered, “Sir the pilot of this aircraft is my Dad, and I know he will land us home safely”.  The upheaval and unrest on board could not steal the tranquility of the lad, as he knew his dad.   Many trust the words of the paramedics, prophets or preachers yet they cannot put their trust in God as they have no relationship with the Father.

“Hope” born out of a relationship will not put us to shame:

  1. Delay: Delay does not alter destiny as our hope is in the relationship and not the uncertainty. (Habakkuk 2:3) For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come. The longer the wait, the better the finish. Good things take time. So let delay strengthen your hope and faith.
  1. Dregs: Dregs and disappointment cannot derail our destiny when our hope is hooked onto our Heavenly huddle. (Job 13:15) Though He slay me, yet will I hope in Him. The  more the pressure on the grapes, the better will be the taste of the wine. So, let stress strengthen the cords of hope
  1. Damage: Temporary damage cannot tamper our divine terrace. The physical, emotional or financial losses are only temporary. If we lose finances, friends or fields for the sake of Christ, we will be repaid hundredfold over. (Mark 10:30) He shall receive a hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.  Damage suffered serves as a coupon for a hundredfold blessing.

Hope tied to the strings of love and built on the bonds of our relationship with our Heavenly Father will not put us to shame.

Psalms 34:5 Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame.

Prayer: King Jesus, you are my Father, my Friend and my Lord. As I strengthen the cords of love my rope of hope gets tighter and firmer. Amen.
