Ephesians 1:18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in His holy people.
Hope is the steep staircase that leads us to our calling. When our spiritual eyes are opened we will be able to see our purpose but the pathway to our calling is through the steep steps called “Hope”. The bridge between existence and purpose is hope. Everyone born in this world has a unique purpose and calling. Every creation has a purpose. The sun and the moon fulfill their purpose day after day; the trees bear fruits and the birds chirp and sing. There are no unnecessary, unwanted or accidental creations. God saw all that He had made, and it was very good (Genesis 1:31). However there is a constant struggle within a man to understand their potential, purpose and passion. Hope gives us the spiritual understanding of our divine birthright and access to the Heavenly Treasury.
Nick Vujicic was born, naturally, without limbs and legs with no medical explanation or warning. He tried to commit suicide at the age of 10 years as he had no hope and no purpose in life. When Nick’s spiritual eyes were opened he saw a stairway called “hope” that took him to the place called purpose and blossomed his calling. Once he understood his purpose (or the hope to which he was called), his physical disability could not incapacitate him. In fact his inability is the Powerade that fulfills his purpose.
Understand the hope to which you have been called:
- Limbs: Hope has limbs that will carry us to where our legs fail. Hope will be the limbs on which we will march forward in our calling. Nick is the CEO of two organizations “Life Without Limbs” and “Attitude is Altitude” through which he has reached millions of broken souls. More than ½ a million have found the living hope in Jesus through the ministry of limbless Nick.
- Lens: Hope has lens that will help us to peep into the future. We will see into the invisible future through the eyes of hope. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11). Hopelessness drove Nick to purposelessness which plummeted into suicidal thoughts. However, once hope gripped his heart, the plan for his life unfolded. Nick’s hope climbed high when he realized that God had a plan and a future for him.
- Limits: Hope removes the physical and psychological limitations to attain the purpose for which we were created. Nick Vujicic who was born with no arms or legs is an evangelist, philanthropist, motivational speaker and author of the bestsellers “Life Without Limits” and “Unstoppable”. We can accomplish everything that God has ordained for us if our hope does not swerve. Hope in Christ has no human limitations.
The lens of hope will see beyond the facts and the legs of hope will climb over the fears, breaking through physical limitations into God’s ordained destinations. Hope is Christ Jesus is the stairway, elevator and escalator that will carry us to our purpose.
Hebrews 10:23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful.
Prayer: Jesus my Lord and King, You are my hope of glory. May my hope never be hooked on people or my potential but on to your unfailing love. Amen.
