Genesis 4:10 The LORD said, “What have you done? Listen! Your brother’s blood cries out to me from the ground.
Blood speaks. Blood has a voice in the spiritual realm. When Cain killed his brother Abel, the blood of Abel cried out to the Lord. Abel was dead but his blood cried out to the Lord for justice. Bloodshed in the land contaminates the country with sin, lust, greed, violence, rebellion and curse. Number 35:33 “’Do not pollute the land where you are. Bloodshed pollutes the land, and atonement cannot be made for the land on which blood has been shed, except by the blood of the one who shed it.
As fleas that are attracted to the carcass, demons are attracted to carnality. The noise, ruckus and the voice of human blood attracts the demonic. Demons are allegorically referred to as beasts in the Old Testament. Sinful bloodthirsty behaviours, violence and wrath attracts the demonic. Heartless, hysterical and homicidal human behaviour is bloodthirsty, brutal and ‘beastly’. Demons can smell an agitated blood of anger, animosity and astringent. Demons are attracted to a blood boiling with jealousy, resentment and hidden sin.
Both the land that is soaked and lives that are stained with innocent blood can be redeemed only with the Holy blood of Jesus. The supreme blood of Jesus spiritually sprinkled over our lives and our belongings has a repelling effect on demons, witches and warlocks. He will see where you have put the blood, and he will not come into your house Exodus 12:23). The blood on the doorpost of the Hebrew slaves in Egypt spoke protection from the tenth plague that devastated the murderous land.
The blood of Jesus speaks:
- Reinforcement: The blood of Jesus speaks reinforcement, strength and support. The Blood of Jesus speaks success and victory. Psalms 20:3-4 May He remember all your sacrifices and accept your burnt offerings. May He give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed. Sprinkle the blood of Jesus over your endeavours and blind the envious eyes of the enemy. The blood of Jesus is our reinforcement and stronghold.
- Renounce: The blood of Jesus renounces curses, divinations and wicked omens. Evil forebodings are driven out by the sprinkling of the blood of Jesus. Surely there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel (Numbers 23:23). Pronouncements of divination, enchantment and charms against us will be renounced when we apply the blood of Jesus over our children, career and capital (investments). The blood of Jesus renounces curses.
- Ricochet: The blood of Jesus has a repelling or a ricochet effect on the weapons and fiery darts sorcery, blackmagic and spells. Proverbs 26:27 Whoever digs a pit will fall into it; if someone rolls a stone, it will roll back on them. In humans, the scent of blood increases alertness and our visual perception. Spiritually, the blood of Jesus will increase faith and confidence however the scent of the dark world will grip the heart with fear. The blood of Jesus returns curses back to the sender.
The blood of Jesus over our lives, livelihood and legacy reinforces supremacy, renounces curses and ricochets evil back to the sender. The blood of Jesus speaks for us.
Hebrews 12:24 Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks better than the blood of Abel.
Prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, Thank you for your precious blood that speaks and defends even today. I am victorious over the attack of the dark world by sprinkling the blood of Jesus. Amen.
