21 November 2021 – Raise Your Bar – Part 3

Exodus 15:26b I am the Lord, who heals you.

Physicians, psychiatrists  and medical practitioners would assess our physical condition based on the test results, images and symptoms. However, even the most experienced, knowledgeable brilliant prodigies are restricted by human limitations. It is God who gives wisdom to doctors to investigate, diagnose, medicate, operate and treat their patients. Titles define the proficiency of a person. Teacher, plumber or doctor expounds their expertise. Similarly, one of the titles of the God is “Jehovah Rapha” – “God our Healer”. “God is not just a doctor, He is our Healer.”

Healing starts in the heart before it can manifest in our physical body. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved (Romans 10:10).  Unless we believe that God is not bound by the scans, scrutiny and semantics of our medical condition we will limit the power of God. Miracles germinate as a seed of faith in our hearts before the limitless healing power of God explodes. The woman who suffered from hemorrhage for 12 years, lost all her wealth attempting to restore her health but the limited human hands of the doctors could not help her.  The exerts vividly expound that “she said within herself, If I may but touch His garment, I shall be whole (Matthew 9:21). Healing starts in the heart.

Raise the bars of limitations:

  1. Physician: Matthew, Mark and Luke narrate the marvelous miracle of the woman who was healed of the incapacitating profuse bleeding for 12 years, however, Mark gives us a detail that the other two gospels do not. She “suffered much under many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was no better but rather grew worse (Mark 5:26). It is interesting to note that Dr. Luke the author of the gospel of Luke omitted this fact that medical treatment worsened the condition of the woman! The medical insurance that pays for medical miracles of irreversible conditions is faith. Jesus is not just a physician, He is a Healer.
  1. Psychiatrist: Jesus met a man whom the psychiatrist had given up. He had often been chained hand and foot, but he tore the chains apart and broke the irons on his feet (Mark 5:4). The treatment of self-isolation only caused self-injury. He cried day and night at the tomb, cutting himself with stones. Even the expert psychiatrists would conclude that some infirmities are irreversible and would only aid to manage or just alleviate the pain of their patients. However, Jesus is not just a psychologist but He is our Creator. He will recreate the organs damaged by omens. Jesus is not just a psychiatrist but a Divine Healer.
  1. Pharmacist: Jesus has a prescription for all our conditions. His Word brings healing to anxiety, anorexia and alopecia. His Word can reverse auto-immune disorders that no prescription drugs can heal. For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh (Proverbs 4:22). God’s Word is the prescription medication that heals all diseases and incurable conditions.

Raise your bars of limitation – Jesus is not just a psychiatrist, oncologist or cardiologist; He is our Healer.

1 Peter 2:24b by his wounds you have been healed.

Prayer: Jesus you are my Healer. We are grateful for the specialists and surgeons yet, they are all bound by human limitations. Thank you for the limitless healing power that is available in exchange for the currency of faith. Amen.
