07 December 2021 – Human Anatomy – Part 5

Hebrews 2:7-8a You made them a little lower than the angels; you crowned them with glory and honor 8 and put everything under their feet.

Humans are lower in ability but higher in authority than angels. We cannot traverse between the spiritual membrane that separates the terrestrial from the celestial like the heavenly beings, but our prayers can penetrate across the borders of the globe without aviation permits to touch, transform and heal anyone in the hellish hood. Angels do as they are told but we can enter the sublime, stupendous and splendid throne room of God with our requests, bequeaths and intercessions.

At creation mankind was crowned with glory and honour, with authority and dominion to rule over the earth. In putting everything under them, God left nothing that is not subject to them. Yet at present we do not see everything subject to them (Hebrews 2:8b). Adam and Eve traded their distinguished crown of glory, authority and dominion to the devil. The serpent cheated them with the wealth of “discernment and decision-making” that was already embodied in them. It was like paying the full price to a stranger to possess the property that we have inherited from our forefathers. They paid to buy the ‘image of God’ that they were created in!

But glory be to God, Jesus repossessed the authority that we lost, on the cross.  But we do see Jesus,..now crowned with glory and honor because He suffered death (Hebrews 2:9). Everyone who believes and confesses that Jesus is the Son of God are re-crowned with the stunning coronet of authority over sin, sickness and satan.

Three trickery traps of the devil that usurps the crown of authority:

  1. Prominence: Prominence is the struggle in many homes under the shroud of personality conflicts which are actually ego clashes. Prominence is not defined by the number of followers on instagram or Facebook, but by the authority we have over sin and the satanic. We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us (Romans 12:6). Those who enjoy their own embellishment are quick to appreciate others. Envy, pride and criticism are the devil’s traps to pinch our uniqueness. Don’t strive for prominence. We are already crowned with prominence.
  1. Power: Power-craze is a fictitious thief that knocks the crown of authority and authenticity. Control-freaks want to know everything and camouflage it as a ‘character trait’. If they miss out on anything, they think they have lost the swarm. Those who have to fight for power have already lost their God given authority. Those who blame others for everything that goes wrong in their life are power-crazy control-freaks. Blaming, insinuating and alleging others is an ambush from the pit of hell to pilfer our crown of authority. Power shines from the crown of patience.
  1. Priority: Prioritizing wants & needs, preferences & necessities will steal the crown of glory from our head. Prioritizing fellowship with God over friendsprayer over pleasurecharacter over charisma will protect the crown of authority that we have received from the Lord. Prioritize your life.

Our flaccid human body is crowned with divine honour and glory. Protect your crown of glory.

Galatians 4:7 So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are His child, God has made you also an heir.

Prayer: Sweet Jesus, my Sovereign Lord, thank you for retrieving the crown of authority that I had sold to sin. Keep me alert from the greed of prominence, power or pleasure that steals my spiritual authority. Amen.
