14 September 2022 – Grace – Part 4

Zachariah 4:7 ‘Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain! And he shall bring forth the capstone With shouts of “Grace, grace to it!”

Grace masticates mountains and increases praise.  Grace multiplies when we are confronted with boulders and barriers that try to stop our progress. Zerubbabel was on a building project to build the temple of the Lord that was ruined by Babylonian captivity in 587/586 B.C. However, Zerubbabel and his team faced severe opposition from the Assyrian settlements. They discouraged the people of Judah and intimidated them from joining joyfully in the building project. With the surging opposition, there was an inundation of double portions of “grace”. Zerubbabel did not shudder at the mountain but raised a praise to overcome the barriers.  Fixing the capstone was the final leg of the building project.  The multiplication of grace made Zerubbabel to see the culmination of his God-assigned-project to completion. “Zerubbabel’s hands laid the foundations of this Temple and his hands shall complete it” (Zechariah 4:9).

God’s divine enablement expounds and expands as we move in faith. Grace will increase in leaps and bounds only as we progress. God’s grace will increase many times over the opposing forces of humans and demons. God will fund the projects that He started. His grace will bolster us with the strength that we need to complete our race victoriously. Expect fierce resistance from the demonic world and even confrontation from friends when you launch into a God assignment, mission or a project. It could be building your home, children, ministry, marriage, career or a God given vision. “God will always finish what He started”.

God’s Grace will empower us to complete what we started:

1.     Boldness: God’s grace clothed Zerubbabel with boldness that he was able to speak to the mountains. “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them (Mark 11:23). Grace augments boldness.

2.     Breakthroughs: It is the outpouring of grace that will barrage the barricades. Grace is divine empowerment that divides the seas and destroys strongholds. The One who breaks open the way will go up before them; they will break through the gate and go out. Their King will pass through before them, the Lord at their head.” (Micah 2:13). Grace will break the gates of bronze and doors of iron and walk us into our breakthroughs.

3.     Blessings: Grace increases when burdens become unbearable and with the multiplicity of grace come divine blessings. Blessing comes packaged in divine grace. There is a blessing behind every burden and grace is the bridge that takes us from the burdens to our blessings.

When burdens, boulders and barriers grow, grace multiplies. Grace takes us victoriously over the finish line.

2 Corinthians 4:15 All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.

Prayer: Father of Grace, I will speak “grace, grace” over the mountains and the stumbling stones in my way. As I cry ‘grace, grace’ I will leap over the hurdles triumphantly.  Amen
