Matthew 22:14b For many be called, but few chosen.

Our response to the call of God will open the next door to a blessed life. People want a quick fix for their problems. They are looking for an instant miracle. “We live in a microwave world but serve a Crockpot God”. Responding to the call of God, receiving His forgiveness, renouncing the curses, repairing the broken foul thinking patterns and resisting the enemy from falling back into sin will change failures into victory. Repentance is not a one time magical moment, it is an everyday choice to do, say and walk in righteousness. This is what Paul meant when he said, “work out your own salvation with fear and trembling” (Philippians 2:12).

Many heard the gospel that Jesus preached but only few accepted to follow Him. On hearing it, many of his disciples said, “This is a hard teaching. Who can accept it?” (John 6:60). Jesus raised the bar of righteous living. But I am saying to you, everyone who looks at a woman so as to lust for her, immediately commits adultery with her in his heart (Matthew 5:28). Jesus taught us to resist ugly, mean and detestable thoughts before the thought fertilizes into an embryo and gives birth to sin. Adultery, envy or gluttony starts as a thought. A promiscuous or revengeful thought makes us an adulterer or a murderer. We need not commit the crime to become culpable.  Hence the second key to overturn curses is by changing our thought patterns and responses. I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live (Deuteronomy 30:19b).  Our “response” to the temptation will determine the door to our destiny.

2nd Key to turn curses into blessings:

1.     Receive: Receive correction not condemnation. The devil that could not stop our salvation would chain us with condemnation by constantly reminding us of our past failure. The Holy Spirit does not condemn us; He only convicts us. A pliable and humble heart will receive correction and be set free. When we fall, let us not drown in sorrow but pick ourselves back and move forward. Receive correction and change the trajectory.

2.     Righteousness: We are made righteous not by our words or deeds, but by the blood of Jesus. We are in right standing with God when we are clothed with the cloak of righteousness that Jesus earned for us on the cross. For him who knew no sin he made to be sin on our behalf; so that in him we might become the righteousness of God (2 Corinthians 5:21). Tuck yourself under the coat of Jesus.

3.     Renounce: Renounce the past and resist from revisiting failures. You are not a loser; you are a winner through Christ Jesus. Revoke self-proclaimed or bloodline curses to move forward.

Receive conviction, put on righteousness and renounce the curses of the past.

Deuteronomy 30:8-9 You will again obey the Lord and follow all his commands I am giving you today. Then the Lord your God will make you most prosperous in all the work of your hands and in the fruit of your womb.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I choose to follow you and walk righteously and humbly before you. In You are hidden the blessings and the fullness of life. Amen
