Genesis 6:8 But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord.

Noah’s faithfulness caught the attention of heaven. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God (Genesis 6:9). Noah was living among a wicked and perverse generation. The iniquity of man was appalling that God regretted creating man. The Lord regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled (Genesis 6:6). Unimaginable abhorrent sinful practices and perversion were prevalent on the earth. It was no different to the partying streets of the “Sin City”, Las Vegas. Study shows that Las Vegas is the most sinful town in the United States. The population of the earth before the great flood that wiped out humanity is believed to be around 750 million. In a corrupted world there was one man who singled out and lived faithfully before the Lord. His blameless lifestyle in a world soaked in evilness saved Noah and His family from the curse and wrath of God.

Faithfulness is the integration of belief and behavior.  Faithfulness is measured as the loyalty, fidelity and integrity of a person. The true test of faithfulness is not within the church or in a likeminded religious environment; our field test is in the real secular and social world.  Our stand in the workplace and society will put our faithfulness to rapid acid test. Noah and his family were teased, bullied and mocked for their faith but it was his faithfulness that loaded him with divine favour. When the whole world came under the curse of God, Noah and his family were covered under the radar of God’s blessings and protection.

Faithfulness is the 4th Key to turn curses into blessings:

1.     Fidelity: When our belief and our behavior are the same everywhere at all times, we will be found faithful in the eyes of the Lord. Fidelity is faith in action.  For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to give strong support to those whose heart is blameless toward him (2 Chronicles 16:9). God’s eyes are scanning 24/7 to capture, record and reward those who are faithful before Him.

2.     Fervor: Faithfulness will be manifested as fervor or passion. Noah built an ark for 120 years. The world had never experienced flood until that point and it is believed that he constructed the ark nowhere close to the sea but faithfulness bolstered him with fervor. Fervor is the byproduct of faithfulness.

3.     Favour: God’s favour rests on the blameless. Blameless are those who have no known or willful sins in their lives. For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless (Psalm 84:11). Favour is the reward of faithfulness.

Faithfulness, fidelity and fervor turn the curses into blessings.

Psalm 5:12 Surely, LORD, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield.

Prayer: Father God, if there are any hidden and unknown sins hidden in me, please convict me. I commit to walk blamelessly and faithfully before you. Amen
