16 October 2022 – Change Agent – Part 1

Isaiah 40:23 He brings the princes to nothing; He makes the judges of the earth useless.

God is the author of all changes. He is the ‘Master Change Agent’ of our lives. A change agent in a corporate is an individual who promotes guides and mentors a new process, new management structure, new business model or new technology. A change agent must be responsible, accountable, flexible and an expert in the change that he is counseling and coaching. No matter what the economy does or what happens in the stock market or the corporate world, the control is still with the Lord God, our Master Change Agent.

Nothing can happen in our life without His permission. Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows (Matthew 10:29-30). No amalgamation can make us redundant, no boss can displace us and no virus can destroy us without the permission of our Master Change Agent. The Lord God is hovering over us to protect us and if a change comes our way, it is the piece in the puzzle of God’s sovereign will. Like birds hovering overhead, the Lord Almighty will shield Jerusalem (Isaiah 31:5). So, changes need not distress us. Change is maneuvering us towards our destiny.

“If we’re growing, we’re always going to be out of our comfort zone.” – John C. Maxwell

God is our Master Change Agent:

1.     Embrace: Embrace change. The more we repel the more uncomfortable it would be. No matter how much we detest it or how long we resist it, the changing circumstance is not going to wait for us. “We cannot become what we need by remaining what we are”. So, submit your apprehensions and anxieties to the Lord and embrace change.

2.     Energize: Allow change to energize you and not debilitate you. Change helps with improvisation. The only sap that can strengthen us during change is the Word of God. Like how the cattle chew the cud, regurgitate the Word of God and draw strength and comfort. The more we see the change through the lens of God, the more exciting it would be.

3.     Ephod: Ephod was a richly woven piece of the Priestly garment. It was made of gold, and of blue, purple and scarlet yarn, and of finely twisted linen (Exodus 26:8). Two onyx stones (urim and the thummim) were mounted on the gold. To make a decision the Priest would wear the ephod and stand in the presence of the Lord. If urim lights up then the answer was ‘yes’ and if thummim lights up, the answer was ‘no’. The New Testament urim and thummim is the Holy Spirit. If we are filled with peace about a matter then, the ‘urim’ is lit but if we are confused and discombobulated, then thummin is flashing red light. God will guide us with peace in our hearts.

Change is God’s design is to elevation us.

Psalm 75:7 It is God who judges: He brings one down, He exalts another.

Prayer: Father God, you are in control of every change that is happening in my life. Teach me to cruise under the wind of your guidance and not resist change. Amen
