17 October 2022 – Change Agent – Part 2

Daniel 2:20-21 “Praise be to the name of God forever and ever wisdom and power are his. He changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and raises up others.

The Lord God is the Change Agent of governments, authorities, thrones and principalities. He is the ‘change agent’ of the political area. He decides who must be in power. People or votes don’t decide if the Republican or democrat, BJP or Congress, Labour or National party should rule.  God does!  When politicians who do not know the Lord come to power we think it is against God’s plan but God raised Nebuchadnezzar, the autocrat pagan King to overthrow the disobedient obstinate Israelites. ‘This is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: I will send for my servant Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and I will set his throne over these stones I have buried here; he will spread his royal canopy above them (Jeremiah 43:10). Nothing moves both in the spiritual and the natural without the consent of the King of Kings. However, God’s children will thrive, no matter who is ruling the nation. Daniel was only an exile in the heathen land stooped with idolatry, sorcery and adultery, yet, God raised him up as the most influential leader of all times. He was the chief councilor to four kings across three kingdoms. The arrogant tyrannical King Nebuchadnezzar fell at the feet of Daniel when Daniel revealed his dream and interpreted the prophetic vision to him. Then King Nebuchadnezzar fell prostrate before Daniel and paid him honor (Daniel 2:46a).

The ruling political party does not determine your destiny; the God of Heaven and Earth does! The changes in our life are to evolve, embellish and emboss us as “influential leaders” of our time. So don’t resist change. Make creative, innovative and positive impact throughout the change. Learn and equip yourself through the difficult process of the changes that come your way.

To be a leader you must be able to create positive changes – John C. Maxwell

God is our Master Change Agent:

1.     Evolve: Changes evolve us into what and who we are called to be. If you want to get back into shape, change your lifestyle; if you want to grow in your career, be open to work with uncomfortable people and projects; if you want to serve God and be an influential leader changing lives, families and communities, grow through the difficult changes that God permits. Evolve through the changes.

2.     Embellish: Changes when accepted with the right attitude embellishes our lives and lessons learnt through the painful changes become warnings to others. “Learn from the mistakes of others. You can’t live long enough to make them all yourself!” – Oliver Wendell Holmes. When we become vulnerable and expose the lessons learnt through our mistakes, the mess is beautified. The ashes turn into beauty and satan is put to shame. Embellish others through the changes.

3.     Emboss: Facing changes with God given audacity will emboss us as ‘God’s change agents’. We become the catalyst to bring about positive and proactive changes in the lives of others. Change will emboss us as God’s ambassadors

God is in control of all changes both in the political as well as our personal arena.

Daniel 2:19 Then Daniel praised the God of heaven.

Prayer: God our Father, through the political changes and personal shifts help me to evolve into your change agent. Amen
