02 December 2022 – Jesus – Part 6

John 14:9 Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?

Jesus is the conduit and the connection link between the terrestrial and celestial. We pray to the Father in Heaven whom we have never seen but we see the Father through Jesus the Son. The human race has a deep desire for the supernatural. Eternity is in the heart of every human being. He has also set eternity in the human heart (Ecclesiastes 3:11).  The desire to delve deeper into the supernatural has misled humanity to make images as gods. Their wild imaginations became gods in different sizes and forms. They traded the glory of God who lives forever for the worship of idols made to look like earthly people, birds, animals, and snakes (Romans 1:23). We can never envisage the splendid incredible, incorruptible glory of God with our little human brains but we can visualize the implausible God the Father through Jesus.

Jesus came to introduce God the Father to us. God of the Old Testament was not a rash, raspy dictatorial autocrat. He is a God of compassion. We see the love of God through Jesus.  “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). God our Father did not want anyone to perish hence He sent Jesus to show us the way to eternal life and the eternal home that He has prepared for us. Hell is not a place prepared for the disobedient human race; it is the destination of the devil and his demons. …Fire prepared for the devil and his angels (Matthew 25:41). He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). The heart of Jesus reveals the heart of the Father.

Jesus reveals the Father in heaven:

1.     Cord: Jesus became the cord of love that ties us back to the Father. The blood that was shed on the cross is the thread of love that binds us to heaven. I led them with cords of human kindness, with ties of love. To them I was like one who lifts a little child to the cheek, and I bent down to feed them (Hosea 11:4). It is only through Jesus are we embellished, nourished and cherish the love of the Father.

2.     Conduit: Jesus is the way, the conduit and the roadmap to heaven. Following the footsteps of Jesus will walk us into eternity. Jesus is an embodiment of love, forgiveness and endurance.  Transforming to the likeness of Jesus is the GPS to heaven. Jesus is the only way to the eternal Father and eternity.

3.     Connection: Jesus is the connecting vine that gives us life and fruitfulness. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing (John 15:5). Those who are severed from vine are certain to wither inside out. Jesus is the connecting revitalizing connection.

Jesus reveals the Father and is the conduit to the Father.

John 20:17b ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”

Prayer: Dearest Lord Jesus, thank you for laying down your life to pave the way for me to get to heaven.  Amen
