08 February 2023 – Quit Quitting – Part 4

Luke 18:7 And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off?

“Don’t Quit. God is about to do something big in your life. Don’t give up. God heard your prayers.”

Don’t quit praying. Change the approach if necessary but don’t give up. The Bible does not teach us that only few are ‘qualified’, ‘sanctified’ and ‘anointed’ to pray for important prayer requests. All of us can approach God in humility and faith. This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. (1 John 5:14). We can pray for anything that is righteous, good and honest. If we get everything that we ask as soon as we pray, we will never stop praying. However, there are times God puts a hold on our prayer request. When we are waiting for a breakthrough, we are not waiting on God, God is waiting on us. God is waiting for our head and heart to be prepared to receive the blessing. ‘Waiting’ prepares us to receive the promotion or the possession. The crown of glory will be too heavy on a proud head. Humility is the skull that will hold the crown of honour. Pride swells the head too big to fit into the crown from heaven and low self-esteem shrinks the head too small to hold the divine blessings. Waiting prepares our hearts and our heads. We know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope (Romans 5:3). Patient perseverance builds character.

Jesus said persistent prayers will bring justice swiftly from heaven. I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly (Luke 18:8).

Don’t quit praying:

1. Patience:  Waiting and persisting cultivates patience. Patience is not waiting grudgingly. Patience is not complaining or comparing while we are waiting. Patience is enjoying every step of the journey. Patience is trusting God blindly for His timing to answer our prayers. Patient prayers will not lose its flavour or fervor while waiting. Don’t quit, God is developing the fruit of patience.

2. Progress: Persistent prayer is the fuel that moves the wheels. If we feel stuck or trapped, reiterate the promises and prophecy over your situation consistently. Progression is not quick movement but consistent small changes towards the right direction. Persistent prayer is the sign of progression.

3. Preserve: Perseverance preserves faith. Quitters quit praying as they have lost faith and hope. They want God to work at their pace and their time. “When you pray, don’t give God instructions, just report for duty”. We cannot please God or expect Him to fight for us if we lose faith and quit. Perseverance preserves faith.

“Don’t give up praying; we are not waiting on God, God is waiting on us”.

Galatians 6:9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Prayer: Dearest Holy Spirit, I need your supernatural strength to persist in prayer with patience without giving up. I know you will never be too late. Amen
