16 May 2023 – Power of Proclamation – Part 3

2 Kings 4:26 Run now, I pray thee, to meet her, and say unto her, Is it well with thee? is it well with thy husband? is it well with the child? And she answered, It is well:

Proclamations are self-proclaimed prophecies. We can speak of destiny or death with our mouth. The words of our mouth become the entrance of life or death. Heaven watches the prophetical words that come out of our mouth. When we declare the Word of God over our lives, angels understand our vocabulary and they surround us. When we declare “For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways” (Psalm 91:11), a team of angels surround us at once. However, when we express our frustration, anger or animosity, demonic forces understand the language of dread and doom. When we say, “I’m done” or “it is better for me to die than to live”, the death demons surround us and taunt us with terror and trouble.

The Shunammite woman’s son was dead. Her husband was old yet at the word of Elisha she had a promised child. This child was struck with brain fever and he died on her lap.  The woman took the child and laid him on the bed in the upper room where Elisha would stay and ran to the prophet. Along the way her husband asked her, “Is it well?” and she said, ‘It is well’. The servant of Elisha asked her ‘is it well?’, and she said “It is well”. The woman reached the feet of the prophet yet did not open her mouth or curse God or the prophet. God honoured her faith and her self-proclaimed prophecy, “It is well”.

Imagine the celebration they would have had after the son was restored and the testimony she would have shared with the villagers and her family. She proclaimed wellbeing and life even in despondency. Prophecy life over yourself, your family, finances and future:

Proclamations are self-proclaimed prophecies:

1.     Dread: Proclamations break the bonds of dread and fear. He shall not fear an ill report; his heart is steadfast, trusting the LORD (Psalm 112:7). Repetition of the promises in the midst of a problem strengthens our inner man. I will not die, but I will live and proclaim what the LORD has done (Psalm 118:17) will make wasting disease be flushed out of your body. Pronounce life not death.

2.     Doom: Proclaim a bright future, not a bad ending. Don’t vocalize the fearful thoughts that cross your mind. Demons tirelessly inject fearful and dreadful thoughts in our minds. The way to counter attack is to proclaim God’s promises over and over again. Repetition of God’s word wipes out the cloud of doom and gloom.

3.     Destiny: Proclaim destiny. Say ‘It is well’ even when you don’t feel well or don’t see even a small sign of the miracle. Prophecy destiny not death.

Watch your proclamations. They are either self-proclaimed prophecies or curses.

Psalm 89:1b “With my mouth I will make known your faithfulness to all generations”

Prayer: Father God, make my proclamations to attract angelic hosts not the demonic ghosts. Teach me to shape my future with my words. Amen.
