08 June 2023 – The Hand of the Lord – Part 5

Deuteronomy 4:34 Has any god ever tried to take for himself one nation out of another nation, by testings, by signs and wonders, by war, by a mighty hand and an outstretched arm, or by great and awesome deeds, like all the things the Lord your God did for you in Egypt before your very eyes?

With a mighty hand and an outstretched arm the Lord brought Israel out of captivity and slavery. ‘Outstretching’ means to extend and go far and beyond. God’s hand stretches out to get the enemy who tries to attack us. God’s outstretched arm pulls us out from the pit and the overwhelming torrent of temptations and trials. He reached down from heaven and rescued me; He drew me out of deep waters (Psalm 18:16). When we walk through the flooded rivers of financial or relationship challenges they will not sweep over us or when we go through the fiery furnace of sickness it will not set us ablaze. His mighty and outstretched arm will rescue us. The Lord has ‘hand extensions’ that can reach the darkest reeking rut and the most disastrous, catastrophic and gloomy pit. No one can go too far from the outstretched hand of God.

The hand of the Lord is stretched out against the enemy. So I will stretch out My hand and strike Egypt with all My miracles which I shall do in the midst of it; and after that he will let you go (Exodus 3:20). God will stretch out His hand against addiction, anxiety and antagonism that attacks our family. His outstretched arm will rescue us from the dabbler, demeanor and derogator. God’s mighty and outstretched arm will find the prodigal in the bar, brothel or bunker and bring them back into His fold. When Moses stretched his hand at the Lord’s command, God’s powerful arm overshadowed it. And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea (Exodus 14:21).

God’s outstretched hand:

1.     Resist: We have no ability to resist the evil hand of the enemy with our own strength or expertise. Stretch out your hands in prayer and fasting for the Lord to resist the diabolical army that comes against you and your family. When we stretch our hands towards heaven, God will stretch-out His hands and strike the enemy.

2.     Redeem: The outstretched arm of God redeems us from the ditch of despair. He lifted me up from the pit of despair, out of the miry clay (Psalm 40:2).

3.     Rescue: The outstretched arm of God will break the strength of the enemy. Your boss cannot misuse his authority to demote you nor can the envious horde derail your progress with the spirit of jealousy, black magic or incantations. The Lord will rescue you.

No one can stand against the outstretched arm of God. As we stretch our hands, God will stretch-out His hands and strike the enemy.

Ezekiel 30:22b I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt. I will break both his arms, the good arm as well as the broken one, and make the sword fall from his hand.

Prayer: Heavenly Father thank you for the assurance of your outstretched arm that strikes the conniving, cunning, stealing evil arm of the enemy. Amen.
