16 June 2023 – Continually – Part 7

Deuteronomy 11:11-12 But the land you are crossing the Jordan to take possession of is a land of mountains and valleys that drinks rain from heaven. It is a land the LORD your God cares for; the eyes of the LORD your God are continually on it from the beginning of the year to its end.

“God is watching us, but He loves us so much that He can’t take His eyes off us. We may lose sight of God, but He never loses sight of us.” — Greg Laurie

The Lord God never takes His eyes away from the land or the domain that belongs to Him. The Promised Land of the Israelites was the territorial boundaries of Canaan. The Lord God gave Moses a detailed map of the length and breadth of the Promised Land. It was the land flowing with milk and honey that was watered by heaven. It was a land the Lord cared for and the eyes of the Lord were continually on it 24/7, 365 days of the year. What a promise!

When Israel sinned and disobeyed, the Lord took His eyes away from them and they were oppressed by their enemies. As long as the eyes of the Lord were on them, no one could come near them.

To the New Testament believers, the promises of God, lead us to our Promised Land. There are no defined territorial boundaries as God’s promises have no limits or limits. The eyes of the Lord are continually watching over those who reverentially fear, love and serve Him. His eyes are watching over our health, heritage, happiness, wealth, work and networth. He will watch over our career, children, comrades as well as our criticizers. The LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore (Psalm 121:8). Our sphere of influence extends to family, ministry, job, business, friends and acquaintances. He bolsters us with His presence and promises to possess our Promised Land. His eyes are continually on us to help us to nurture and cherish our inheritance.

The eyes of the Lord are continually on us:

1.     Land: The land that the Lord watches over will be productive and prolific. Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year a hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him (Genesis 26:12). The land was blessed hence the seeds brought forth a hundredfold harvest. The eyes of the Lord are continually watching our efforts to build our family, children, ministry, career or business and none of our efforts will go in vain. Our land will be fruitful.

2.     Livelihood: The Lord is watching over our finances and our needs. We don’t have to be concerned about money and mortgage or stress about finances. God is the source of our livelihood.

3.     Looter: The eyes of the Lord are the most alert ‘security system’. He will watch over the envious evil plots of the enemy and sabotage the lethal weapons of the looter before it can harm us.

The eyes of the Lord are continually on those who fear Him.

Psalm 33:18 But the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love.

Prayer: Father God, thank you for the assurance that You are watching me continually even when I lose sight of you. Amen.
