Isaiah 59:21 “As for Me, this is My covenant with them,” says the LORD: “My Spirit who is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your offspring, nor from the mouth of your offspring’s offspring,” says the LORD, “from now and forever.”

Legacy is not what I did for myself. It’s what I’m doing for the next generation – Vitor Belfort

Anointing continues to flow from one generation to the next. I remember your genuine faith, for you share the faith that first filled your grandmother Lois and your mother, Eunice. And I know that same faith continues strong in you (2 Timothy 1:5). Timothy carried the anointing of His grandmother Lois which continued to flow through his mother Eunice onto him. The greatest wealth that will last into eternity is the anointing that we carry. Anointing to intercede, serve, give, encourage, preach, prophecy are perennial anointing that flows from generation to generation. Timothy did not come from a perfect home. His father was Greek. Bible scholars believe that Timothy’s father did not come to Christ or might have died when Timothy was young. There was dysfunction in the home and two different religions, yet, the anointing of the grandmother followed and engulfed Timothy. Timothy became a son to the Apostle Paul and faithfully labored with him to preach the Gospel. Timothy was instrumental in establishing the church of Ephesus and also became the first pastor of that church.

Pass on your anointing to your generations – children and grandchildren (both spiritual and biological children). Teach them the importance of godliness, holiness and righteousness. Let them hear only God’s goodness and faithfulness from you. Speak blessing and proclaim promises over your generation. If you have not come from an anointed generation, break evil addictive habits, poverty, divorce, dysfunction, waywardness, idolatry or any other generational curses and start a new bloodline under the blood of Jesus. God has made this eternal-covenant with everyone who has repented and relented from their sins. Under this covenant, He will not only put His Spirit upon us and fill our mouth with prophetic utterances but also anoint our children and our children’s children and fill their mouth with His word now and forever.

Three conditions attached to the eternal-covenant:

1.     Purity: God requires our lives to be clean, transparent and humble before God and man. There cannot be any hidden agenda, pride or prejudice.

2.     Peace: God is looking for peace-makers not piece-makers. Be a channel of peace.

3.     Plead:  God is looking for those who will defend the defenseless, protect the fatherless and plead the case of the widow/hopeless. “Learn to do right! Seek justice, encourage the oppressed. Defend the cause of the fatherless, plead the case of the widow” (Isaiah 1:17). ‘Reaching out to those who can never return our favour’ pleases the Lord.

Anointing continues from generation to generation.

2 Kings 8:19 The LORD was unwilling to destroy Judah, since He had promised to maintain a lamp for David and his descendants forever.

Prayer: Father in Heaven, I surrender my life to righteousness, holiness and purity. May the anointing in me be passed on to my generations to come. Amen.
