27 June 2023 – God’s Insurance Policy – Part 3

Deuteronomy 28:13 The Lord will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the Lord your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom.

God’s insurance policy covers our success and progress. There is no insurance company in the world that can assure us of success. There are ‘social-employment’ insurance policies that insure our income for a period of time in case of redundancy, but no one can assure our success no matter how brilliant and intelligent we are. The Lord God gave Joshua a blanket cover – “Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go (Joshua 1:7). We will be successful wherever we go and whatever we do only if we commit to obey His Word. “Wherever” covers all the spectrums of our life. It covers our personal, professional, social, ministerial and interpersonal spheres. Success is not just for our ministry but in all areas. If we are a failure in social relations we can never propagate the love of Jesus. If our performance is mediocre in our jobs we can never shine the light of Jesus in the dark world. If our interpersonal relationships with spouses, children and friends are strained our professional success would mean nothing.

God’s insurance policy covers us to be the head and not the tail. We will lead and not be dragged around by social, cultural or political norms. We will be above only and not below. Our circumstances will not rule over us; we will speak to the catastrophe and it will succumb before us. He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper (Psalm 1:3).

Insurance Cover of Success:

1.     Progress: The secret of our progress in life is hidden in God’s Word. Our qualification, experience or eloquence does not guarantee progression. There are many highly educated scholars who are not successful. We don’t have to push ourselves forward if we walk according to God’s ways.  The wave of God’s grace will gently guide us to keep progressing and succeeding.

2.     Digress: Take God’s Word literally. His Word says that whatever he does shall prosper. Anyone who walks according to God’s Word cannot digress from truth and uprightness. So, whatever we do with a pure heart will be blessed. Never do or say anything to please man, only stand for honesty and integrity.  Digression to God’s Word and the truth hinders success.

3.     Success: Success follows those who follow God. We don’t have to chase success, recognition or reward, it comes chasing after us.

God’s insurance cover of success sets us up for progress and significance.

Joshua 1:8 Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I commit to follow you and meticulously meditate on your word. Thank you for your insurance cover of success over my life. Amen.
