29 June 2023 – God’s Insurance Policy – Part 5

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

‘Peace is not the absence of trouble, but the presence of Christ’ — Sheila Walsh.

God’s insurance policy assures us ‘peace’ that cannot be bought with affluence or influence. Money and mansions cannot give us peace, only the Master can. Jesus has promised us divine peace, in the midst of problems. He reiterated over and over again, “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me (John 14:1). Demons are like greedy monkeys that wait to steal our peace. The assault strategy of the diabolical forces is to steal our peace, when we are perturbed to kill our joy and destroy our productivity. Spiritual attack has one core ulterior motive – to destroy peace and drown us in our problems.

Many are misinformed that God’s children should not face struggles. When trials and tempest baffle they are fooled by the insinuating demons that God’s protection has left them. Peace is replaced by perplexing questions – ‘Where is God?’ But Jesus clearly warned and assured us, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33). We will overcome every storm and squall with Christ Jesus.

What is stealing your peace? No matter how big our problems are, the power of God is bigger. Behold, I pour upon her peace like a river, and like the torrent that overflows (Isaiah 66:12a). Don’t let the demonic monkeys steal your peace with fear; hurl back the promises and take back your peace.

The insurance cover for peace was purchased by the blood of Jesus:

1.     Defeat: If evil foreboding steals your peace, drive out the fear that is gripping your heart. Fear about the future or the outcome of the crisis will steal our peace. Defeat fear by repeating the promises of God. Take your problem to the Lord in prayer. Pray, praise and place all your fears at the feet of Jesus.

2.     Destroy: Anxiety is like ‘Doctor Google’, it brings ten different probable outcomes. Anxiety will blow the probabilities out of proportion and the demonic monkeys will inject fearful thoughts into our mind to steal our peace. Destroy anxious thoughts with God’s Word. Our God is bigger than the probabilities.

3.     Disarm: Jesus has disarmed the stealing hands of the demonic monkeys. However, fear and anxiety open the door for the demonic monkeys to steal from our family, finances and future.

Divine insurance policy assures us of peace that is beyond human understanding. Disarm the demonic monkeys.

Philippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Prayer: Dearest Jesus, teach me to live in divine peace in the midst of the problems and help me to break the demonic hand that tries to steal my peace. Amen.
