01 July 2023 – God’s Insurance Policy – Part 7

Romans 8:32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?

God’s insurance policy is the assurance and guarantee for “all things”. The verse did not say ‘everything’ but ‘all things’. If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him! (Matthew 7:11). All things that we need do not include everything that we want. Psychology explains that a need is something that we cannot live without and a want is something that we would like to have, but is not essential to our survival. What a ‘luxurious want’ is to one person would be a ‘need’ to another person. For example, the latest electronic gadget could be a want to one person, but would be a need to someone else that cannot make his living without it. We have a solemn guarantee to receive all our needs under God’s insurance policy. Our heavenly Father who provides food, clothing and shelter to the birds of the air and the flowers of the field has guaranteed our supplies. So, don’t worry about the job, promotion, rent/mortgage payments, school fees or day to day overheads. God’s insurance policy covers all our needs. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? (Matthew 6:30).

If we are not aware of the policy clauses or conditions we will not exercise our rights. Likewise, if we are not aware of God’s Word and His conditions and clauses we will not be able to boldly exercise our rights. God’s word enlists the clauses and conditions of God’s comprehensive insurance policy.

God’s Comprehensive Insurance Policy:

1.     Conditions: The conditions in the Bible start with ‘if’. If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth (Deuteronomy 28:1). Mark the ‘if’ verses and highlight them. The ‘ifs’ qualify or disqualify us to exercise God’s insurance and assurance policy.

2.     Clauses: The verses that follow the ‘ifs’ are the clauses of the comprehensive cover that we have in Christ Jesus. All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God (Deuteronomy 28:2). If the Lord has enumerated all that we need in His insurance policy, we don’t have to stress over anything. He will provide all things.

3.     Candor: The eligibility clause looks for our candor and sincerity. Truthfulness and transparency qualify us for God’s comprehensive insurance policy.

God’s Word is His insurance policy. We are covered for all that we need, so, don’t worry about anything. He will provide all things that are necessary.

Matthew 6:34a Therefore do not be anxious for tomorrow.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, give me a calm assurance that I don’t have to stress about anything that I need as I’m covered by your comprehensive insurance policy. Amen.
