Daniel 2:22 “It is He who reveals the profound and hidden things; He knows what is in the darkness, And the light dwells with Him.”
The secret things are hidden in the secret place of the most High God. Humanity has an unquenchable thirst for eternity. God has “set eternity in the human heart.” (Ecclesiastes 3:11). This is why even atheists who don’t believe in God are afraid of death. Those who fear the Lord have the privilege of sharing the secrets of God. The secret of the LORD is for those who fear Him (Psalm 25:14a). Those who reverentially fear the Lord and flee from anything that would hurt the heart of God would become the best friends of Jesus. He will confide secrets with them.
Daniel loved and feared the Lord God more than any authority or autocrat. He refused to bow down to the trend and the traction of the world. Hence the Lord revealed the interpretation of the dream of the Babylonian tyrant King Nebuchadnezzar. Nebuchadnezzar refused to reveal the dream to the magicians, enchanters, sorcerers and astrologers but commanded them to interpret it. Before Daniel interpreted the dream to the pagan king he proclaimed, ‘it is God who reveals the deep secrets things’.
Jesus has promised us the Holy Spirit, who will reveal, interpret and divulge the deep secrets. These are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God (1 Corinthians 2:10). The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God. Befriending the Holy Spirit and constantly communicating with Him will make our spiritual ears sharp to hear the voice, advice, counsel and interpretation of God. We will understand God’s perspective on any issue and not be intimidated by the worldview.
The secrets of God belong to the friends of God:
1. Deep: Deep secrets of God are for everyone who loves God and walks cautiously to please Him. It is not just for the prophets. Anyone who can hear God and follow His instructions becomes God’s mouthpiece. The Lord God will reveal to us what the world has not heard, seen or even conceived in their mind. Befriend the Holy Spirit.
2. Decipher: The Spirit of discernment will operate in us when we walk in reverential fear of God. Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God (1 John 4:1a). The Holy Spirit will give us the discernment to decipher right from wrong; truth from deception.
3. Disclose: The Lord will share His plans and burdens with His friends. Surely the Sovereign LORD does nothing without revealing His plan to His servants the prophets (Amos 3:7). There is a steep rise in occultism even in the western world as humanity has a craving to understand the future. All the secrets of the future are hidden with God our Father.
Once we befriend the Holy Spirit our daily casual conversation will be discussion of deep truth, strategies and secrets.
1 Corinthians 2:15a The person with the Spirit makes judgments about all things.
Prayer: Dearest Holy Spirit, I will turn my heart to you and tune my ears to you to discuss and understand the deep secrets from You. Amen.
