Exodus 2:23 The Israelites groaned in their slavery and cried out, and their cry for help because of their slavery went up to God.
We fight a fierce battle with the ‘Spirit of Pharaoh’. Pharaohs have deceased, but the spirit of pharaoh is very much alive. The spirit of pharaoh manifests as control, envy, insecurity, blasphemy, belaboring and violence. When the King of Egypt found that the Israelites/Hebrews were extremely fruitful, he started oppressing them. So they put slave masters over them to oppress them with forced labor (Exodus 1:11). Forced labour is the extraction of work under threat of severe penalty or even death which the person has not offered voluntarily. The reason behind such oppression is normally pride, envy and insecurity. Come, we must deal shrewdly with them or they will become even more numerous and, if war breaks out, will join our enemies, fight against us and leave the country.” (Exodus 1:10). Bigotry, racism and intolerance will manifest where conceit, jealousy and insecurity are fostered.
We face the attacks of the spirit of pharaoh in political, social and official circles however, when it is in operation in a home, it will break the harmony of the family. This spirit of pharaoh will call ‘wrong right and right wrong’. It is the spirit of pharaoh that supports abortion and promotes infertility. It is the spirit of pharaoh that is behind feminism and sexism, and is now cultivating gender confusion in young hearts voraciously. Behind violence, gun culture and any form of ill-treatment there is the spirit of pharaoh.
We need the Deliverer, Jesus, to free us from this oppressing spirit of pharaoh. As Moses freed the Israelites with a staff, Jesus will set us free through the cross. Don’t accept oppression, abortion and coercion as the norm of the day. Battle against the spirit of pharaoh that steals our posterity and prosperity. As we raise a battle cry of praise and drown the oppressing spirit under the Red Sea.
Wage a war against the spirit of pharaoh:
1. Insecurity: Insecurity springs from a proud and envious heart. The Pharaoh who was intimidated by the Hebrews who were thriving in a foreign land appointed ‘slave masters’ to oppress them. Any place where we are forced, intimidated and overworked the spirit of pharaoh is in operation.
2. Infertility: The Pharaoh gave ‘orders’ that every Hebrew boy that is born should be thrown into the Nile river and fed to the crocodiles and anacondas! It is the same spirit that is in operation in the parliaments of almost every country in the world that is legislating and legalizing abortion. The devil is after devouring our children. Pray for your generations faithfully and annihilate the spirit of pharaoh.
3. Impurity: The Pharaoh instructed the midwives to kill the boy babies as they assisted in birth. It is the spirit of pharaoh that is propagating wrong ideas, filth, impurity and immorality as human rights! The spirit of pharaoh called wrong right and right wrong.
The spirit of pharaoh is alive and active. Fight this battle on your knees and defeat the oppressing spirit.
Genesis 2:25 So God looked on the Israelites and was concerned about them.
Prayer: Father in Heaven, give me the insight to identify the spirit of pharaoh and the anointing to fight and overcome. Amen.
