31 July 2023– Voices– Part 2

Act 12:5 So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying to God for him.

God knows your voice. Corporate prayer in unison unlocked the prison doors for Peter. The church didn’t pray quietly in their secret prayer closet. They congregated together in the house of John Mark and raised their voices. Earnest cries are recognized by the Lord. He sent an angel to break the chains of Peter, unlock doors, blind the eyes of the double security police officers and saved Peter’s life. Heaven has a high-tech voice recognition system. Our voices are recognized by the ‘divine voice recognition system’ of heaven when we pray. The divine technology can differentiate between desperate and despondent voices. Heaven can distinguish between authentic and rhetorical prayers.

Every word we speak on earth echoes in heaven. Our prayers, confessions, bold affirmations and even our negative deformations reverberate in heaven. Angels respond to our voices. Angels are puzzled if we speak and pray in different tones and attitudes. If our proclamations contradict our prayers, angels are paralyzed in confusion. The church prayed in one accord for God to send his combat angels to save Peter and the angel of the Lord invaded the high security prison and delivered Peter.

When our spouse, family or best friends call, we would recognize their voice straight away. When Peter was miraculously led out of the prison, he came straight to the prayer meeting that was praying for his deliverance. When she recognized Peter’s voice, she was so overjoyed she ran back without opening it and exclaimed, “Peter is at the door!” (Acts 12:14). The servant girl who came to the door recognized his voice but in excitement ran back into the meeting to tell everyone that Peter was at the door without opening the door. Likewise, angels are our agents who recognize our voice. As much as quiet time with God is important, praying out loud and raising our voices to sing, praise and prayer is also very much required.

Heaven has the best voice-recognition system:

1.     Breaks: Our voices break bondages. The voices of the prayer group resounded in heaven and bounced back as electric power that broke the iron chains of Peter in prison. Likewise, our prayers will break the bondages of those who are in mental, emotional or psychological prisons or addictions.

2.     Blinds: Our voices blind the eyes of the enemy. All the security officers in the high security prison were blinded to Peter walking out of the prison scot free. Our voices blindfold the demonic world.

3.     Baffles: Our voices baffle the enemy. Herod was annoyed, angry and baffled by Peter’s escape. The gates were still secured, but Peter was gone. Our voices of faith and hope taunts, puzzles and baffles the enemy.

Raise your voices and speak faith, confess hope and proclaim victory. Our voices break every addiction, and give instructions to the angels to fight on our behalf.

Acts 12:18-19 In the morning, there was no small commotion among the soldiers as to what had become of Peter. After Herod had a thorough search made for him and did not find him, he cross-examined the guards and ordered that they be executed.

Prayer: Dearest Lord Jesus, may my prayers pass the voice-recognition-system of heaven and activate the heavenly hosts. Amen.
