01 August 2023 – Voices – Part 3

Psalm 29:9 The voice of the LORD makes the deer give birth, And strips the forests bare; And in His temple everyone says, “Glory!”

The voice of the Lord has creative power. His voice makes and breaks. It builds those who love Him but shakes the pits of hell. The voice of the Lord makes a deer give birth, which means – His voice births dreams, visions and gives us new beginnings. The voice of the Lord gives birth to new ideas. His voice revives, refreshes and renews. It gives hope to the hopeless, strength to the weak and life to the dead. His voice can break the pride of the arrogant and restore the humble and obedient. His voice is powerful, authoritative and His voice has the final say!

Jesus said, “my sheep hear my voice”. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me (John 10:27). If our ears are tuned to hear God’s voice, we will not be stuck, stagnated, or stifled. There will be newness in our vision, thinking and perspective. His voice gives us confidence, boldness, and resilience. We will not be intimidated by worldviews or by demonic voices.  No enemy can intimidate us. When we look at the mountain of impossibility, we will hear the voice of the Lord thundering over it. When terror swells like a flood, the voice of the Lord will part it into two and make a way in the middle of the mighty waters. The voice of the Lord is over the waters; the God of glory thunders, the Lord thunders over the mighty waters (Psalm 29:3). When we are afraid, anxious, or annoyed, we must just sit at His feed to hear His voice. One Word, one verse and one gentle stroke from the Lord revives our strength. His voice reinvigorates us.

There is power in the voice of the Lord:

1.     Breaks: The cedars of Lebanon are strong, durable, and resilient. The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars; the Lord breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon (Psalm 29:5). The voice of the Lord breaks the spine of the enemy as it breaks the cedars. His voice bolsters us with divine strength.

2.     Makes: God’s voice makes the demons flee. He makes Lebanon leap like a calf, Sirion like a young wild ox (Psalm 29:6).The Canaanites believed that their gods dwelled in the mountain ranges of Lebanon and Sirion, the mountain ranges in Judea near Lebanon. Speak the word of God over the diabolical attack and watch them take flight.

3.     Shakes: The Desert of Kadesh was a location of many ancient battles. So, the Desert of Kadesh refers to a battlefield. The voice of the Lord shakes the desert; the Lord shakes the Desert of Kadesh (Psalm 29:8). His voice gives us victory in every battle.

God’s voice has supernatural power to revive, refresh and reinvigorate our terrified souls. Take time every day to sit at His feet to hear His voice.

Psalm 29:9 The voice of the Lord twists the oaks and strips the forests bare. And in his temple all cry, “Glory!”

Prayer: Dearest Lord Jesus, tune my ears to hear your voices, listen to your instruction and walk by your guidance. Your voice is powerful. Amen.
