11 November 2023 – Eagle’s Eye – Part 7

John 21:15 When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?” “Yes, Lord,” he said, “you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed my lambs.”

An “Eagle Eye” means a person who is watchful and careful to notice even the very small details and the minute specks.”

The Eagle eyes of the Lord does not see us as who we were but as who we will be. He sees us through His compassionate forgiving eyes and not through the judgemental eyes of the world or the condemning eyes of hell. He does not see our past mistakes or the mess of our mishaps but sees us through His purpose and His promises.

The Lord God did not demote Peter for denying Him thrice. The eagle eyes of the Lord did not see him as a pejorative betrayer but a powerful preacher. The eyes of the Lord spotted the convict and coward, Moses, as a compassionate pastor. He saw the timid whiner Gideon as a winner. His eagle eyes saw the bloodthirsty murderer Paul as an ardent messenger. The world sees our pitfalls but God sees our potential through His promisesThe devil mocks us as losers but God calls us ‘more than conquerors’.

With the extensive use of social media, cyber bullying is on the rise. Relationship breakups or silly errors can trigger cyber bullying. Statistics from News Medical Life Sciences says that of 39% of teens that dropped out of school, 37% showed delinquent behavior, 32% engaged in frequent substance abuse, and 16% were severely depressed. While the world slanders us for our mistakes and the demons inflict wounds of condemnations, God sees us a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession (1 Peter 2:9a).

The Lord’s Eagle’s Eyes see us as anointed, special and valuable:

1.     Redeemed: The eyes of the Lord see us as a redeemed, spotless and blameless child washed by His precious blood. The ‘divine detergent’ has washed, purified and justified us from all our rebellion and stubborn sins. For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness. I will remember their sins no more” (Hebrews 8:13). Forsake the ‘forbidden entertainments and environments’ to be forgiven, set free and redeemed.

2.     Repaid: The eyes of the Lord do not look at our ‘sins’ as the blood of Jesus has been paid as the full and final settlement for our sins. The body of a redeemed hooker, forgiven and washed by the blood of Jesus becomes the temple of the Holy Ghost. The redeemed sinner is not a second class citizen in heaven. We are also on par with the patriarchs, prophets and preachers as our sins have been repaid in full.

3.     Restored: The eyes of the Lord see us as restored to our original position as His dear son/daughter. In the restoration process, the most unqualified, unworthy and undeserving will become pillars, prophets and propagators of the Kingdom of God.

The Eagle Eyes of the Lord sees the loathsome sinner as his son/daughter.

Psalm 32:1 Blessed is the man to whom the LORD does not impute wickedness.

Prayer: Father God, thank you for your eagle eyes that look at me compassionately as forgiven, redeemed, restored and valuable through the blood of Jesus.   Amen.
