We must fight against the enemy who comes to steal, kill and destroy. If the peace, joy and unity of the home are frequently stolen, if relationships are repeatedly embittered and if there is a pattern of financial loss, we must fight to stop the intruders from trespassing into our territory. Regular patterns of heartbreaks, defeats, sickness or deprivation are vicious cycles of curses that have to be broken by battling on our knees.
The Midianites subjugated Israel severely for seven years as Israelites forsook the Lord God and wandered away from the Law of the Lord. The Midianites would invade, ruin their crops, and destroy all the produce and their livestock. They camped on the land and ruined the crops all the way to Gaza and did not spare a living thing for Israel, neither sheep nor cattle nor donkeys (vs 4). The Midianites impoverished Israel and oppressed them greatly. When the Israelites cried out to the Lord, the Lord sent a deliverer to fight and overthrow the tormentors.
The Old Testament is a shadow of the New Testament and the battles that were fought on the battleground must be fought in the spiritual realm in our prayer closet. Our prayer chamber is our battlefield. Cycles of regression or repression must be broken. Go to war against a familial disease that are hereditary and are passed on from one generation to another. The Blood of Jesus, fasting and prayer will flush out the genetic mutation that is passed on through the bloodline. Cycles of regression in career, finances, marriage or health is caused by the evil arm of the demonic impostor which must be dismembered. The Lord God who bolstered Gideon with boldness will strengthen us with courage to go to battle against the dark world and the spiritual evil forces in the heavenly realms. Win the war with spiritual weapons of God’s Word, His Blood, His name, fasting and prayer.
Fight for your inheritance:
1. Posterity: The demonic realm is after our children and our future generation. Unwholesome talk, distracting habits, addictions, ungodly friendships, love of money or lust can steal our posterity. Go to battle with the evil forces that come to snatch your children.
2. Prosperity: The evil arm of the wicked is after influence, opulence and affluence. Don’t be disheartened and accept losses passively. For the rod of the wicked shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous (Psalm 125:3a). Pray against unforeseen forces in the dark world and sabotage their plots.
3. Prayer: Prayer is our weapon to drive out oppression, depression and suppression. Hell trembles when we start praying. We have the spiritual stamina to ride over the circumstances through the vehicle of prayer and fasting.
Fight for your family, finances and your future. Battle on your knees.

Prayer: Father God, give me the tenacity to fight against stealing, oppressing and depressing spirits that come to steal, kill and destroy. Amen.
