14 February 2024 – Metamorphosis – Part 3

Isaiah 62:2b You shall be called by a new name, Which the mouth of the LORD will name.

Metamorphosis (in an insect or amphibian) is the process of transformation from an immature form to an adult form in two or more distinct stages. Studies say that almost 80% of the animals experience some form of metamorphosis. The evolution of frogs is one of the most mindboggling forms of metamorphosis. During the morphing period, the gills of a tadpole are replaced with lungs; limbs grow and the tail disappears. The froglet looks nothing like the tadpole once it goes through the process of metamorphosis.  Metaphorically the process of spiritual metamorphosis will completely change a man inside out. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new (2 Corinthians 5:7).

“The process of spiritual metamorphosis transforms us into a new person”.

Moses was a wimp who fled from the Pharaoh but he came back as a warrior. The spiritual metamorphosis of Moses was in the wilderness for 40 years. The Lord completely changed his personality inside out. Moses walked back into the same palace with boldness and the faced the Pharaoh from whom he once fled. He challenged the mighty army of the Pharaoh with just a shepherd’s staff. The army of the living God was backing Moses who single handedly won the Egyptian tyranny. “Let the people go, so that they may worship the LORD their God. Do you not yet realize that Egypt is ruined?” (Exodus 10:7).

Spiritual metamorphosis will transform a weakling into a warrior, a perpetrator into a pastor, and a runaway convict into a commander-in-chief.

Spiritual Metamorphosis changes our commission:

1.     Wimp: Spiritual metamorphosis will transform a coward into a courageous sergeant. The same Moses who fled as a convict from the palace reentered Egypt as a champion after he was transformed into a new man under the burning bush.

2.     Weakling: Spiritual metamorphosis turns our weakness into strength. God looks for the weak, foolish and imprudent to transform them into mighty soldiers for His kingdom.  But God has chosen the foolish things of the world, to confound the wise. And God has chosen the weak things of the world, to confound things which are strong (1 Corinthians 1:27).

3.     Worrier: Spiritual metamorphosis will turn a ‘worrier’ into a ‘powerful warrior’ to overthrow the powers of darkness. In the process of transformation we will realize our rights, powers and authority over the demonic abyss. Anxiety will dissipate when we put on the spiritual armour and ammunitions.

Spiritual metamorphosis will transform a wimp, weakling and worrier into a mighty warrior.

Exodus 4:14 God then charged Moses to lead the Israelites out of bondage and bring them to the Promised Land.

Prayer: Father in Heaven, help me to have a burning bush experience and burn down my weakness and worry. Make me a warrior that makes hell tremble. Amen.
