25 February 2024 – Angelic Alliance – Part 7

Luke 2:13 Suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God.

Angelic presence was very profound when Jesus walked on planet earth. The messenger angels and the heavenly choir herald the birth of Jesus. The angel of the Lord guided Mary and Joseph during the Immaculate Conception and birth of Jesus (Matthew 1:18-25) & (Matthew 2:13–23). Angels ministered to Jesus after the temptation in the wilderness (Mark 1:13) and comforted Him at the Garden of Gethsemane (Luke 22:44). Angels announced the resurrection of Jesus (Matthew 28:2) and angels proclaimed a message of comfort to those who were gazing at the sky after the ascension of Jesus when He was taken up into Heaven (Acts 1:10). The only place where angels were absent or watched from a distance was at Calvary, when Jesus restrained divine help as He took the penalty of sin and curse on Himself, on the gruesome cross. Do you think I cannot call on my Father, and he will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels? (Matthew 26:53).

Even today angels are very active in the supernatural realm. The evil presence of demons is more felt than the company of angelic alliance as sin is rampant on the earth. Anger, animosity and antagonism are enticed by the demonic alliance but praise and prayer will drive out the dark forces and encircle us with angelic alliance.

A close communion with the Lord will help us to live in the companionship of angels. Jesus said to Nathaniel, “Truly, truly, I say to you, you will see heaven opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man” (John 1:51). Here, Jesus was referring to the angelic helpers in the miracles that He was going to perform. The Jews understood that supernatural miracles would involve angelic alliance.

Angelic Alliance:

1.     Invasive: Angels encase an environment and ethos where the Lord is honoured and welcomed. Then Elisha prayed, “O LORD, open his eyes and let him see!” The LORD opened the young man’s eyes, and when he looked up, he saw that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire (2 Kings 6:17). Prophet Elisha was surrounded by an angelic army as He was in constant communion with the Lord.

2.     Intrigued: Angels are intrigued when we study, discuss, examine and expound God’s Word. It is all so wonderful that even the angels are eagerly watching these things happen (1 Peter 1:12). Angels are intrigued about the amazing grace of God and the goodnews of salvation.

3.     Involve: Angels are automatically involved where the Lord is welcomed. Angels are present and their presence can be felt tangibly when we acknowledge the presence of the Lord and involve Him in our daily routines.

Angelic alliance permeates where the Lord is praised.

Acts 27:23 For this very night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve stood before me.

Prayer: Dearest Lord Jesus, I enthrone you as the Lord and Master over my life. May your reign encompass me with divine angelic alliance. Amen.
