Psalm 145:18 The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.
Prayer is the atomic power that aids us to transcend from the terrestrial to the celestial. Prayer is the nuclear energy that switches us from the earthly realm to the heavenly realm in seconds.
“Your PRAYER is like an atomic bomb with powerful shockwaves”.
However, there are many prayers that are not answered and are not even heard. Dead religious, ritualistic and rhetorical prayers will not be answered. If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened (Psalm 66:18). But prayer with the ammunition of truth and trust will blast through the darkness and zoom through the gates of heaven into the throne room of God.
God does not weigh our prayers with the multitude of flamboyant words but with the authenticity and genuinity of our heart. Truth will reveal itself when tested. Truthful prayers are durable and tenacious. There was a heathen woman who came to Jesus pleading for her daughter. Jesus gave her a cold shoulder and tested the genuity of her heart. Then He made a condescending statement, He replied, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.” (Matthew 15:26). But she remained tenacious and persistent without being insulted. “Yes it is, Lord,” she said. “Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table” (vs 27). Jesus saw the truthful plea and performed a mighty miracle. Her demonized daughter who was several miles away was set free by the sincere prayer of her mother. Then Jesus said to her, “Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.” And her daughter was healed at that moment (vs 28).
This Syrophoenician woman who worshipped several pagan gods turned her back to the pantheon gods and sought Jesus in honesty and in humility. Hence her truth turned her petition into an atomic prayer that unlocked the treasury of heaven.
Truth is ammunition to atomic prayers:
1. Trust: If this unnamed Syrophoenician woman had treated Jesus as one among her several pagan gods, she would have returned disappointed. Trust and truth are the gunpowder that generates power to our prayers.
2. Tenacious: If all prayers are answered within 5 minutes the ‘spiritual muscle of tenacity’ will not be developed. Tenacity and perseverance develop the muscle to ‘pray without ceasing’ until the answer is received.
3. Tactile: The intangible faith and truth will be revealed by the determination in our prayer. The Syrophoenician woman refused to give up until she received the miracle. She was not touchy but tactile. Hence her persistence was rewarded.
Truthful, tenacious and tactile prayers are ammunition and powerful atomic prayers.
Jeremiah 29:13-14a You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you, declares the LORD.
Prayer: Dearest Lord Jesus, if there are hidden hindrances in my heart to truthful and authentic prayers reveal it to me and coach my prayers to be sincere and authentic. Amen.
