Genesis 1:1-2 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
The Weekly News from the Divine Workshop
In the eternity past, the Lord God stepped into the empty cosmos to work in His “Divine Workshop”. Space Scientists estimate that there are 200 billion to 2 trillion galaxies in the universe. In the Milky Way alone we have over 50 other galaxy neighbours. Among the trillions of galaxies, God chose our Solar System and His eyes fell on the third planet, the earth. He walked over the empty, formless and dark blob of His creation and said, “Let there be light,” and there was light” (vs 3). The sun, moon and stars were created on the 4th day, but on the first day He created light!
The Lord God Himself is the source of light. When His presence is absent, darkness closes-in, hence He brightened up the dark cosmos with the light of His presence. The deadly darkness was killed when the Lord turned the switch of the ‘Divine Workshop’ with His word. God lives outside the realm of time and space. He was not restricted with 24 hours to finish His work. There was no sunset but when God accomplished His purpose, the day ended. And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day (vs 5b). The cosmos was lit with light after the Lord dusted His hands and finished His work on day-1 in the Divine workshop!
The Lord God orchestrated the ‘cosmic rhythm’ of night and day and placed us in the realm of time and space. However, He is not restricted by the cosmic rhythm of 24/7 or 365 days. Hence, there are no good days or bad days; every day is a good day with the Lord.
Creation in the divine workshop did not stop with Genesis 1; His creative power still creates, transforms, reforms and performs miracles.
When the light of His presence shines over us, His miraculous power and divine purpose unfurls. The divine workshop is still bustling with creative, transformative and reformative miracles.
The Divine Workshop:
1. Light: God begins everything by speaking light into it. Don’t be discouraged by the problems, bring them under the transformational light of Jesus to correct and change. Speak light into the dark, hidden and weak areas for His miraculous power to renovate and reconstruct your life.
2. Liberates: Light unearths the truth and liberates. God does not expose our emptiness, formlessness and fruitfulness to shame us but to liberate us into His divine purpose.
3. Lighten: Sin and secrecy are heavy loads but the light of God’s truth lightens the burden of sin. Without light there will be no life, likewise, without the light of God’s Word there is no liberty.
Without light there is no life and without the Light of the Word there is no purpose or power.
Ephesians 5:13 But everything exposed by the light becomes visible—and everything that is illuminated becomes a light.
Prayer: Dearest Lord Jesus, let your creative power fashion me according to your purpose in your divine workshop and let your light exterminate the dark deeds. Amen.
