12 November 2024 – Love Letter – Part 2

2 Timothy 3:15-17 You have been taught the holy Scriptures from childhood, and they have given you the wisdom to receive the salvation that comes by trusting in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

The Bible is the breadth of God and is alive and active. The words are not black ink on white paper but they are living and full of life. For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart (Hebrews 4:12). God’s breath is the gentle breeze that plants God’s Word in our spirit. God’s Word that is implanted in our spirit is like a fetus that is conceived in a woman’s womb. A fetus does not remain dormant. It grows every day and will soon become noticeable. Likewise, God’s Word that is seeded in the spirit will soon take root, grow, and bear fruits. Fostering the life-giving scriptures in the womb of our heart will transform us to the likeness of Jesus.

God’s breadth gives us life. Then the LORD God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being (Genesis 2:7). Reading, retaining and recollecting His Word every day and several times a day revives, rejuvenates and renews us. We must read the Bible with an expectation to be transformed. God’s Word has creative power. His Word creates even today. God’s Word will bring clarity to our confusion. When puzzled and perplexed, read His Word until His breadth blows away the doubt and deliberations. God’s Word changes and transforms us. The Bible is a God-Breathed Love Letter to our impoverished soul.

God’s Word is God-Breathed:

1.         Create: God’s Word will create visions, vigor and veracity in us. By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, And by the breath of His mouth all their host (Psalm 33:6). Speak God’s Word over the dead dreams and the dry bones and they will come back to life.

2.         Clarity: God’s Word will illuminate our mind darkened by conundrums. “But it is a spirit in man, And the breath of the Almighty gives them understanding” (Job 32:8). His breath will divide the human thoughts from God’s perspective and expose our stinking attitude from God’s intention. So read until He blows the confusion away.

3.         Change: God’s Word will change us inside out. Once His Word takes root, it will grow, multiply and completely transform our thinking, talking and testimony.

The Bible is God-breathed ‘Love Letter’ to you and me. Never never never neglect it.

Isaiah 55:11 So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, breathe on me as I read your Word and create, clarify and change my soul to become more and more like you. Amen.
