Ephesians 6:18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
Praying in the Spirit will keep us stress-free. We will be serene in the storm and strong in the strife because of our heart-mind connection with the whispers from heaven. A praying person is a praising person. As we keep magnifying the Lord, power will increase and the problem will diminish. The peril becomes smaller and smaller and the potent of God becomes bigger and bigger. Praying in the Spirit strengthens our spiritual wings to carry us to greater heights. The higher we fly the smaller the world below us would become. The same analogy is true for our spiritual journey as well. The higher we claim in our spiritual walk, the weaker the lethal demons would become.
Elisha and his servant woke up one morning to find themselves surrounded by the enemy. The servant trembled for his life but Elisha was not stressed. Elisha was an anointed man of prayer who prayed in the Spirit. He knew that the angel of the Lord encamped those who fear Him (Psalm 34:7). He was not troubled as he was confident that when an army comes against them, the Spirit of the Sovereign Lord will stand against the enemy and protect them (Isaiah 59:19). Elisha who was praying in the Spirit was able to see the angelic hosts surrounding and protecting them. Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha (2 Kings 6:17). Elisha was even able to hear the enemy’s plots and plans, in their secret inner chamber, miles and miles away. But Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the very words you speak in your bedroom.” (2 Kings 6:12b). We will be able to experience tranquility even when we are in tumultuous times.
Pray in the Spirit:
1. Serene: Serene, gentle and a quiet spirit is the unfading beauty of those who pray in the Spirit. You should clothe yourselves instead with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God (1 Peter 3:4).
2. Stress-free: Stress is the emotional strain and pressure caused by difficult situations. Praying instead of panicking makes God bigger than our problem. Singing through the squall and surrendering to the Lord will alleviate anxiety.
3. Strong: Physical exercise and establishing good habits makes us physically strong likewise, praying in the Spirit is a discipline that will make us spiritually strong. Praying in the Spirit makes us more aware of God’s presence than the presence of people.
Praying in the Spirit will keep us in godly serenity, stress-free and spiritually strong.
2 Kings 6:16 “Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.”
Prayer: Father God, make me more aware of your presence than the presence of people. I want to be in constant conversation with you 24/7. Amen.
