Judges 6:14 The LORD turned to him and said, “Go in the strength you have and save Israel out of Midian’s hand. Am I not sending you?”
‘Every beginning has an end and every end is a new beginning.’ With new beginnings come new blessings, assignments and challenges. With the dawn of the New Year the problems of the previous year do not vanish. However, the Lord gives us strength and stillness to succeed over the struggles.
Gideon’s encounter with the Lord turned over a new leaf in his life.. A timid farmer was anointed as the Commando of Israel. Fighting and wielding swords was not his expertise. He only had experience in threshing wheat! Inspirational speakers would advise us to identify our strength and improvise on it to become successful but Jesus says, bring your weakness to me and I will make beauty from the ashes of your struggles.
The angel of the Lord addressed the weakling who was hiding in a winepress, “Mighty Warrior”. “The Lord is with you, mighty warrior” (vs 12b). God does not need our strength, talent or intelligence. He can use weakness, incompetence and ignorance to make us successful.
The success of 2025 does not depend on our acumen, aptitude or ability but in God’s rich abundance. The Lord God will use our inability to bring good success and prosperity.
Get-set-Go:
1. Strength: Take your weakness, inability and incapacity to Jesus. He will replace our weakness with His strength, our inabilities and incapacities with His proficiency. Don’t question nor fret. Just be obedient and go forth with confidence.
2. Serenity: The Lord cannot move miraculously when our heart is troubled and tumultuous. Learn to trust and rest. Don’t let the insufficiency, lack or limitations stop your dream and vision. Go with the limited resources and God’s provision will supply more than what you need.
3. Success: Success is not dependent on what we have but in God’s riches and abundance. Gideon won the battle with 300 men and no weapons but with the army of the Living God.
We have the hosts of heaven backing us in 2025. Go in the strength you have.
Prayer: King of the Universe, give me the tenacity and the trust to go forward in faith to accomplish all that you have for me in 2025. May this year be a year of success and progress. Amen.
