Matthew 6:9 In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven Hallowed be Your name.

Addressing the Lord God as our Father is the genetic confirmation that we have the divine DNA and positions us to worship Him as sons/daughters. Moses asked the Lord for His name. God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM” (Exodus 3:14b). He did not give Moses a name. We worship and hallow the name of the Lord from our experience. The Lord God provided Abraham with a ram for the sacrifice instead of his son Isaac, “And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah-Jireh” (Genesis 22:14a); God saw the desperate cry of an outcast slave girl, Hagar and her son Ishmael and provided water in the desert so, Hagar hallowed Him as El Roi, “You are the God who sees me’ [‘El Roi’] (Genesis 16:13). The Lord God brought peace to Gideon during a tumultuous time and he hallowed Him as “Jehovah-Shalom”. David experienced the Lord as his shepherd “Jehovah-Raah”. Worship is the expression of our heart and not just our emotions. Our adoration and adulation must be from the experiences that brought forth heart transformation.

If you have experienced a supernatural healing, like me, every moment of your day, you would hallow His holy name as “Jehovah Rapha” and dedicate every breath in your lungs back to Him. However, the glory or the nature of our God is contained in one name, ‘JESUS’. Hallow the name of Jesus that saves, delivers and redeems.

Hallow the name of Jesus:

1.         Expression: Worship reveals your heart. Our posture, words or actions must only be the expression of our heart and not just our emotions. If our external expression of kneeling, bowing or singing is by compulsion of a protocol then, we are not hallowing the name of Jesus but performing a religious ritual.

2.         Experience: Worship will be meaningful only if it is from experience. We cannot worship the Lord by “knowing about God”. Our worship will be authentic only if we “know Him”.

3.         Elucidation: Our worship elucidates our relationship with the Lord to the spiritual world and our adoration of the name of Jesus demolishes the demonic gangsters.

Hallow the name of Jesus from your personal experience and not out of compulsion.

Prayer: Jesus My Saviour, I hallow your awesome Omnipotent, Omnipresent, and Omniscient name. Amen.
