Matthew 6:9 In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven Hallowed be Your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Acknowledging that the DNA of Christ Jesus is imbibed in the core of our being, and worshipping Him in truth and spirit will bring us down to our knees to surrender to His Lordship. In the next part of our prayer we should invite His Lordship and His Kingship. When we surrender to the rulership of Jesus, the rules and regulation of the heavenly kingdom becomes our directive and guide. We agree wholeheartedly and willingly to abide and live under the Lordship of Jesus. Surrendering to God’s will is to sign-up to fulfill our God-given purpose and to be obedient to His will.
“Surrender” is a very important part of our prayer which accentuates our love, integrity and faithfulness to the Lord. Surrender gives no excuse to our weakness and inherent habits or behaviour patterns. Surrender is a posture where we allow the power of God to cleanse, replace and renew our mind, thoughts and intentions. In this part of our prayer we stretch ourselves as living sacrifices on the altar of sacrifice and allow the fire of heaven to burn and obliterate anything that is not the nature of Christ Jesus.
In the kingdom of God there is no anger, animosity and antagonism. Under the Kingship of Jesus there is no room for unforgiveness, arrogance or insecurity. Submitting to the Lordship of the Saviour of the World is to surrender our wants, needs and desires to His Sovereign will. Surrender sucks us into the heavenly realms and brings heaven down to earth.
Surrender to the King of Kings:
1. Kingship: We agree passionately that God’s Word will guide our thoughts, emotions, choices, decisions, reactions and responses.
2. Rulership: We submit to God’s rulership and divine direction, willingly.
3. Ownership: We live as ambassadors of heaven on earth fulfilling the divine agenda of King of Kings. We admit that we are only stewards of all the blessings that He has given us. He owns our posterity, positions and property.
Surrendering to the Kingship, rulership and ownership of King Jesus will bring heaven down to earth.
Prayer: King Jesus, Let the rule of heaven be my guide and unfold your plan on the earth through me. Amen.
