2 Chronicles 5:14 “The priests could no longer minister because of the cloud, since the glory of the LORD had filled the house of God”.
To be captivated by the glory cloud and God’s glorious presence, our worship must be authentic!
The Temple of Solomon was an incredible piece of architecture. In modern currency, Solomon’s temple would cost hundreds of millions or even billions of dollars to be completed. The temple was sheathed with 100,000 talents of gold, which is equivalent to about $300 billion USD. It was not the gold that attracted the glory of God but the genuine worship that brought the fullness of God down to earth into the colossal holy place. The trumpeters and musicians joined in unison to give praise and thanks to the Lord. Accompanied by trumpets, cymbals and other instruments, the singers raised their voices in praise to the Lord and sang: “He is good; his love endures forever.” Then the temple of the Lord was filled with the cloud (vs 14). The glory cloud that filled Solomon’s temple was God’s love, compassion and kindness that wrapped around the blemished individuals like you and me.
We will be able to experience the tangible presence of the Lord if our worship is authentic, exclusive and wholehearted. The cloud of God’s love covered the ministers that they could not go through the routine but just soaked in His compassionate love. We call this “being slain in the spirit”. It is not a modern Pentecostal experience but an expression of heaven invading our hearts. Genuine worship will imbibe God’s authenticity and nature into every fiber of our being.
Slain under the glory cloud:
1. Undivided: Undivided dedication in our worship will siphon us into the glory cloud of God’s goodness. Distractions, worldly worries and cares will disburse God’s glorious presence.
2. Unison: Unison in corporate worship is absolutely essential to enter His glorious presence. Apprehensions, judgemental thoughts and unforgiveness will keep us out of the glorious presence. Ingenuity has no room under the glory cloud.
3. Untainted: Untainted heart attracts and reflects God’s glory and godliness. Known sins and rebellion will keep us out of His glorious presence.
Authenticity in our worship will soak and saturate us with God’s glory, goodness and graciousness.
Prayer: Gracious Saviour, let there be no felony or façade in my worship. Make me genuine, faithful and authentic. Amen.
