03 February 2025 – Divine Activation – Part 6

Daniel 10:3 “I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled”.

Fasting shifts divine gears and accelerates answers to prayers. Activate your promises by the yeast of fasting. Scientifically, fasting activates yeast cells by inducing the protective state in yeast. Fasting enhances the ability of yeast cells to survive longer under nutrient-limited conditions. In humans, fasting repairs damaged cells, improves resilience, cellular functions, slows down aging and extends lifespan. The metaphor in the natural is a direct comparison to the spiritual. Fasting is the “divine yeast” and fasting and prayer activates the promises of God.

Fasting along with prayer must become a regular routine of our life for divine activation of God’s promises and prophecies. Just as fasting activates yeast, fasting and prayer activates angelic hosts to muster on our behalf to defeat the spirit of delays and the barriers of failure. Daniel decided to activate the promises and prophecies through fasting. As soon as he made the decision to fast and pray, the answer was released. As soon as you began to pray, a word went out, which I have come to tell you (Daniel 9:23a).

The fasting prayer of Daniel brought speedy answers because his petition was scriptural, structural and sincere.

Spiritual Activation:

1.         Scriptural: Fasting is scriptural. Jesus instructed us to fast and pray. He did not say “if” you fast but categorically said, “When” you fast.

2.         Structural: There is a structure to fasting and prayer. Fasting is not demanding God to do what we want. It is not starving to push God to move. It is not twisting God’s hand to get what we want. Fasting is humbling, confessing our misdoings, repenting and engaging in a humble pledge to walk righteously. It is the humbling intercession that activates divine intervention and breakthrough.

3.         Secret: Finally, fasting is not dieting; all though it might have a side benefit on our waistline, fasting must be done with sincerity in our heart and in secrecy (Matthew 6:16-18). We know about Daniel’s fast only because the Lord rewarded him openly for his fasting in secrecy.

The yeast of fasting will activate divine intervention only if it is scriptural, structural and sincere.

Prayer: Father in Heaven, may my fasting be the divine yeast activator for speedy answers. Amen.
