19 February 2025 – Animated Bible – Part 1

Judges 5:20-21 From the heavens the stars fought, from their courses they fought against Sisera. The river Kishon swept them away, the age-old river, the river Kishon. March on, my soul; be strong!

“Picture speaks a thousand words”. A single portrait or image can explain an idea or elucidate a story more effectively than a lengthy discourse. When we read the Bible, we must animate the words to form pictures in our mind. Reading the Bible by walking the streets of Jerusalem and listening to the voice of the Saviour will leave indelible images and pictures stories in our heart and mind.

Israel repeatedly walked away from the Lord and invoked the anger of God. Hence they were oppressed under the hands of Jabin, the king of Canaan. He had nine hundred iron chariots and ruthlessly suppressed Israel. After 20 years of oppression Israel repented and cried to the Lord so, the Lord raised Barak and Deborah the prophetess to fight for them. They had neither armaments nor trained soldiers so the Lord God Himself fought for Israel.

Animate Judges 5:20-21 and draw an astounding picture in your mind of the stars with hands shooting arrows at the iron chariots of the commander Sisera, and the river Kishon mustering strength and swelling up to swallow the enemy. The river overflowed and the river bed was soggy; hence the wheels of the iron chariot were caught in the mushy river bank. All of God’s creation fought the battle for Israel!

Animated Bible speaks louder than words:
