20 February 2025 – Animated Bible – Part 2

Isaiah 43:20 The wild animals honor me, the jackals and the owls, because I provide water in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland, to give drink to my people, my chosen.

“Picture speaks a thousand words”.

Animals and creatures are more obedient to the voice of God than humans.  Throughout the Bible we witness the response of wild animals and birds to the command of the Lord their creator. Animating the Bible will bring to life the black prints on white paper. When the Lord provides water in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland, the wild animals look up to heaven and howl, hoot, bark, whistle, coo or chirp to thank the Lord for the provision.

There would have been millions of whales in the oceans but one whale heard the command of the Lord and followed direction. But the LORD sent a great fish to swallow Jonah (John 1:17a). The Lord God stopped the digestive juices from assimilating Jonah and He supplied oxygen to him through the blowhole of the whale. Then God directed the whale to swim to Nineveh and spew Jonah out on the shore after 3 days. The whale’s ears followed the divine instructions meticulously. Likewise, a pair of every living, breathing animal came to Noah to go into the ark (Genesis 7:15a). Noah didn’t go far and wide looking for the animals and creatures; they came to him! The polar bear from the North Pole and the lions and cheetahs from the African jungle made their way to the ark! Imagine animals from the different continents following the direction of the Lord and moving towards the ark of Noah.

God who made the wild animals and the whale obey His command is in control of everything that is happening in our lives.

The animated Bible speaks louder than words:

1.         Stir: Animate the words of the Bible to stir up your faith.

2.         Stimulate: Animating the Bible will stimulate fervor for the Lord. If God can do it for Jonah and Noah, He can do the same for you and me.

3.         Special: The Biblical records become very special when we animate as the pictures and images that we form become indelible prints in our heart and mind.

Animating the Bible stirs up our faith.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, let your word come to life as pictures, images and reels as I read them. Amen.
