Exodus 3:2 There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up.
“Picture speaks a thousand words”.
Moses went to work one morning and stopped at his favorite workspot in the wilderness where he saw a bush on fire but the fire did not consume the bush! What an awesome sight it would have been. The amazing spectacle changed the course of his life. The Lord God spoke to him from the burning bush. He told him his mission and his commission. The same God who appeared in the bush as flames of fire was the ‘pillar of fire’ that led him and the ½ a million Hebrew slaves through the wilderness. Imagine a ‘pillar of fire’ and a ‘pillar of cloud’ over your head 24/7. The flames of fire liberated Moses and the Israelites from slavery and bondage. Again when the 120 disciples and apostles of Jesus were waiting in the upper room for the promised gift of the Holy Spirit, They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them (Acts 2:3). See that flames of fire going before you as you begin each day. The same God who spoke to Moses from a bush will speak to us from the Bible. His words will burn like fire in our bones. We might not have visual aids to guide us but His Word is like fire in our hearts.
