Psalm 34:15 The eyes of the LORD watch over those who do right; His ears are open to their cries for help.

The eyes of the Lord not only watch over those who do right but they also record and achieve our every move in the divine iCloud. “The eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good” (Proverbs 15:3). Both good and bad get registered; nothing goes unrecorded. The eyes of the Lord capture the genuine good deeds that are shunned by the world and the dark dead deeds that are hidden from the world.

One day Jesus sat down opposite the offerings box in the temple and watched the people giving their offerings. The wealthy were gloating over their riches as they threw large sums of money but a poor widow put two very small copper coins into the box. The pennies were unnoticed by the crowd but the pennies were plenty in the eyes of Jesus. Jesus said to His disciples, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others” (Mark 12:43).

The eyes of God do not measure our offering by the quantity but by the quality of our heart. His eyes observe even the menial and marginalized who are despised by the world. Pennies were plenty in the eyes of Jesus.

Observant Divine Eyes:

1.         Records: Nothing goes unrecorded or unnoticed by the Lord. On the day when Jesus took record of the offerings at the temple, the poor widow’s offering was the highest and most celebrated in heaven. Heaven records righteousness.

2.         Recognizes: Jesus recognized the poor widow not the opulent who threw large sums of money. The reward of the world is temporary but the recognition of heaven is eternal and lasting.

3.         Righteous: The righteous are those who are washed by the blood of Jesus and have no known sin in their life. The eyes of the Lord watches over the righteous and His ears are open to the cry. He watches over the righteous day and night.

Small and simple righteous deeds are watched, recorded and recognized by heaven. Pennies of the poor widow were plenty in the eyes of Jesus.

Prayer: Jesus my Saviour, I pray that you will guide my steps into righteousness, faithfulness and sincerity. Amen.
