14 March 2025 – Prayer Stations – Part 3

Exodus 30:18-19 “Make a bronze basin, with its bronze stand, for washing. Place it between the tent of meeting and the altar, and put water in it. Aaron and his sons are to wash their hands and feet with water from it.

From the brazen altar or the cross we move to the brazen basin. This is where the priests washed themselves before they entered the tent of the Holy Place with the consecrated bread, wine and olive oil for the lampstand. The brazen basin was made from the Egyptian bronze mirrors of the women who served in the outer court. They made the bronze basin and its bronze stand from the mirrors of the women who served at the entrance to the tent of meeting (Exodus 38:8). The bronze mirrors were part of the plunder that the Lord gave the Hebrew slaves as they fled Egypt (Exodus 12:36). So, the priest examined themselves in the reflection of the bronze mirrors before they washed themselves with water. Typologically, the brazen basin is the Word of God that helps us to scrutinize and cleanse ourselves.

At the third prayer station, we read the Word of God and the Word of God reads us and we see the reflection of our soul. It exposes our fears, shame, silly excuses and judgemental thoughts. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror (James 1:23). We see ourselves in the mirror of God’s word and wash, change, correct and transform to the likeness of Jesus.

Prayer Station-3:

1.         Reflect: The Word of God reflects our soul like a mirror and helps us to repent and reconcile with the Lord.

2.         Renew: Hidden mistakes and unintentional sins or slander will be glaring as we read the Psalms and Proverbs. Then we wash ourselves with the Word of God. To make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word (Ephesians 5:26). Here we renew our covenant with the Lord.

3.         Refresh: God’s Word heals, forgives and refreshes our heart.

The third prayer station is the brazen basin that reflects our soul and helps us to renew and refresh ourselves in Him.

Prayer: Jesus My Lord, may your Word cleanse my unknown and unintentional sin to renew and refresh my soul. Amen.
