21 April 2025 – Divine Deposit – Part 6

Matthew 13:12 For to the one who has, more will be given, and he will have an abundance, but from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away.

Manure enriches the soil. Adding organic matter and nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium improves soil structure and water retention. Manure improves the fertility of the soil and the fruitfulness of the plantation.  Like adding manure to improve our soil condition the seeds of faith need manure and fertilizers to become fertile and fruitful. Metaphorically, the Word of God that we read, retain and recollect becomes the divine deposits and faith fertilizers.

‘Faith’ if left uncared for will become frail and feeble. The weeds of doubt and disbelief will grow along with the seeds of faith and choke it. The thoughts that we mull over, the words we speak and conversation that we entertain will either nourish us with nutrients or deplete our faith with apprehension and anxiety. The vigor and viscosity of our faith depends on the manure and food we feed our soul. We must be careful not to dump toxins on our seeds of faith but nurture it with nutrients and nourishment.

Faith Food:

1.         Firm-Faith: Thoughts of hope and confidence will fortify our faith. The unnamed woman with the issue of blood for 12 years had firm faith as her thoughts reinforced her faith. For she thought to herself, “If I can just touch His robe, I will be healed” (Mark 5:28).

2.         Fragile-Faith: Fear will make our faith fragile. The face of Jairus turned pale when he heard that his daughter had died, but Jesus said, “Don’t be afraid; just believe” (Mark 5:36). Fear strangles faith.

3.         Fervent-Faith: Fervent faith sees the miracle before it manifests. Fervent-faith is pregnant with the miracle. Jesus was amazed at the faith of the centurion who said, “Just send your word and my servant will be healed”. Fervent faith is unfalteringly and firmly rooted in God’s Word. Trusting in the Word of God bolsters fervent faith.

The manure for fervent-faith is our steadfast trust in God’s Word. Strings of thought patterns that fortify hope and confidence feed firm and fervent faith.

Fervent-faith is pregnant with the miracle.

Prayer: Dearest Lord Jesus, help me to amaze you with my firm and fervent-faith and to destroy negative, doubtful and fearful thoughts that strangles trust. Amen.
