25 April 2025 – Fire – Part 3

1 Kings 18:21 “Then you call on the name of your god, and I will call on the name of the Lord. The god who answers by fire—He is God.”

Fire starts when a flammable or combustible material in sufficient quantity is exposed to heat. It is a chemical reaction of fuel and oxygen. This is a beautiful analogy of how God answers by fire when there is a combination of faith and fervent prayer.

The audience of Elijah was lukewarm Israelites who had contaminated their worship with idolatry and revelry. They worshiped the Jehovah God but they also brought the pagan idols, sorcery and infidelity into the temple. They were ruled by Ahab and his Phoenician wife Jezebel who had completely misled the people into occultic practices and the worship of idols such as Baal and Ashtoreth. So there was a spiritual darkness that blinded the eyes of the people. Elijah addressed the people of their detestable sin and wickedness, “but the people said nothing” (vs 21b). So he threw a challenge to the pagan priests that the God who answers by fire – He is God. The false prophets of Baal called on his name, prayed, danced, cut themselves until they bled, and pleaded, but fire did not fall on their sacrifice.

Then, Elijah prayed a power-packed 60 seconds faith-fueled prayer causing combustion in heaven and fire to fall on the sacrifice! Ardent unshakable faith and fervent prayer is the ‘combustion-combination’ for the fire anointing.

Combustion-Combination of the fire anointing:

1.         Faith: Faith is the firewood that ignites the fire anointing. Faith is the substance and the vision of the miracle in the spiritual realm. Firm faith sees the end result in the 4th dimension, and enjoys the miracle in the 3rd dimension, even before it manifests.

2.         Fuel: Fervent prayer is the fuel that causes the spiritual combustion for a fire anointing to fall on us. The sufficient combination of oxygen and fuel, the ample permutation of faith and fervent prayer, will ignite the fire anointing.

3.         Fire: The anointing will bring repentance. When all the people saw this, they fell prostrate and cried, “The Lord—he is God! The Lord—he is God!” (1 Kings 18:39).

Combustion-Combination of faith and fervent prayer fuels the fire anointing.

Prayer: Dear Holy Spirit, bestow on me a fire anointing to pray faith-fueled, miracle-working, breakthrough prayers. Amen.
