One of the grave dangers in the paperless digital society is cyber theft, hacking and online scams. Cybercriminals are rampant and rapacious to steal sensitive personal information for our digital devices. ‘Passwords’, lock and protect sensitive personal and financial information on our devices from scams and malware. A device without a password can be accessed by cybercriminals and misused. Hence strong passwords are recommended on all our digital devices.
Similarly, our mind must have strong passwords that will protect the virus of sin that infects and infiltrates our heart. “Guard your heart with all diligence, for from it flow the springs of life” (Proverbs 4:23). The soul that is protected with strong passwords is obedient to the Lord. Obedience to God’s Word and His commandments are the password that locks the heart from rebellion and revelry. Weak or no password to the heart leads to frivolous and wayward living. The same principle that operates in the natural world on our digital devices applies to our spiritual device, ‘the heart’.
Demons are like cybercriminals. They are crafty, crude and cruel. They find every little loophole to enter and corrupt the software of our heart. The demons are after our purity, progress and prosperity. Hence, it is important to guard our heart to walk in the fear of the Lord. Obedience is the strong password that protects the software of your heart.
Golden Spiritual Keys:
1. No Passwords: Any thought can build into a stronghold in a heart that has no password. Bitterness, animosity and pride will hoard a heart that has no protection. For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry (1 Samuel 15:23).
2. Weak Passwords: Negative, pessimistic and complaining hearts have weak passwords. Those who allow facts, forecasts and fortune telling to influence their life have weak passwords.
3. Strong Passwords: Protecting our hearts with the promises and principles from the Word of God will lock the door to demonic cyber thieves and unlock the divine door of blessing.
Is your heart password protected? Strong password shuts the door on curses and opens the door to divine blessings.
Prayer: Spirit of Truth, give me a discerning heart to protect my heart with the truth and shut the door to deception. Amen.
