2 Samuel 5:6b The Jebusites said to David, “You will not get in here; even the blind and the lame can ward you off.” They thought, “David cannot get in here.” Nevertheless, David captured the fortress of Zion—which is the City of David.
Legs of faith will penetrate through into the enemy’s territory and defeat them. Jebusites were another Canaanite formidable race that threatened and mocked Israel. Joshua’s generation could not dislodge or drive out the Jebusites. Judah could not dislodge the Jebusites, who were living in Jerusalem (Joshua 15:63). They had a very strong defense system that was insurmountable and impassable. However when David became king he went against the Jebusites to defeat them. The Jebusites mocked him that even the disabled among them could keep David from entering the fortified walls of Jerusalem. The Lord God gave the mighty warrior David a very intelligent battle strategy. David and his troops climbed up the underground water tunnel that led them into the main city. David defeated the indomitable enemy and made Jerusalem his headquarters. “David became more and more powerful, because the Lord God of hosts was with him” (2 Samuel 5:10). David’s legs of faith were directed by the Lord God hence, the great warrior knew no defeat.
It was about 399 years from the conquest of Joshua before the Jebusites were annihilated. There could be Jebusites who have ridiculed and intimidated our family bloodline for generations. It could be genetic disease like diabetes, high blood pressure, arthritis or addictive vices such as alcoholism or anger. When we partner with the Lord, our legs of faith will crush the scornful Jebusites.
Legs of Faith that defeats Jebusites:
1. Schemes: Seek the advice of the Holy Spirit to defeat the schemes of the devil that incarcerates God’s people with sickness, foul emotions or habits.
2. Strategies: The Holy Spirit gives us divine strategies to overthrow and annihilate the Jebusites.
3. Success: The secret code of God’s Word and God’s voice made David win every battle he faced. Our ‘Legs of Faith’ will be directed to success when our ears are receptive to His voice and direction.
“Legs of Faith that are directed by God’s secret code will defeat the unconquerable vice, bloodline disease or curse.”
Prayer: Dear Holy Spirit, empower my legs with faith to overthrow the mocking, debilitating or oppressing enemy. Amen.
