2 Samuel 23:9-19 As one of the three mighty warriors, he was with David when they taunted the Philistines gathered at Pas Dammim for battle. Then the Israelites retreated, but Eleazar stood his ground and struck down the Philistines till his hand grew tired and froze to the sword. The Lord brought about a great victory that day. The troops returned to Eleazar, but only to strip the dead.
“One Man Army”
God+Me=Mighty Army. On the contrary, Mighty Army-God=Nobody; a great multitude of manpower without God would amount to nothing. We must never underestimate the resurrected power of God in us. God will be able to do mighty miracles and wonders through the power that works within us; through ONE person. “ONE man army with the backing of heaven can overturn hell!”
King David had about 37 mighty warriors in his army. These violent warriors taunted their enemies. Eleazar was one of them who was known for his “tireless fighting”. While the Israelites retreated, Eleazar single handedly fought against the Philistines. He fought until his hand grew tired and the sword stuck and buried into his hand. Eleazar did not feel the pain nor did he notice the blood dripping from his hand but continued fighting until the last soldier from the enemy’s army fell dead. One man army led by Eleazar had the angelic force fighting along with him.
Be the ONE that taunts hell with the sword, the Word of God and audacious fervent prayer.
The Power of One:
1. Taunt: The demons are not afraid of a congregation of carnal Christians but are taunted by the one man/woman who stands and fights with God’s Word.
2. Tireless: Don’t get exhausted fighting against injustice, enmity and prejudice. You are not fighting alone – you have the angelic army fighting with you. God is looking for ONE man/woman who will not give up on their family and will fight against the fiendish invasion with the spiritual sword– tirelessly.
3. Tenacious: Our fight is not with flesh and blood so, carnal weapons of back slashing, criticizing and lamenting will not win the battle. Hold on to the sword, the Word of God, until the Word is ingrained in you.
“ONE man army with the sword of God threatens and taunts hell”.
Prayer: Father God, I submit to fight tirelessly and tenaciously to taunt the fiendish troops. Amen.
